EVE would be a far better place right now if all these resources for all those countless Titans, Supercarriers, Dreads, Fax, Carriers, Rorqs, Orcas and so on would have had to be manually harvested by real players.

Because we would have probably a lot less of them in the game right now and each one would have a lot higher value. The majority of conflicts would still happen in smaller, cheaper, replacable and more agile ships instead of the game becoming Hotdrop Online™. I witnessed a time when barely anyone had a capital alt in Lowsec and when the 0.0 corps/alliances didn’t use capfleets on every occasion to curbstomp anyone who could remotely fight back. Game was a lot fun back then when fielding a Battleship really meant something.

Kind of sad, it’s definitely hot drop online… and for ridiculous things like t1 cruisers. It’s wild. These guys are so thirsty they drop 15b worth of stuff for a few 30m cruisers… crazy man

You will probably won’t agree that that is needed though.

I can absolutely understand your point, from the perspective of someone who likes ganking and/or believes that it is crucial for the games economy (aka the destruction coming from ganking really matters), yes then ganking should be made easier in return.

My point of view is that I would be willing to bet all my assets (and double that), that if CCP would remove ganking today, in 6 months nobody would even notice it was ever a thing. I find it an economically insignificant thing, compared to what is daily built and harvested and traded all around the EVE universe. But I think it is an important thing that it is possible, so there is danger of being attacked even in highsec and there are no “safe zones”, that is why I am not against ganking as a whole and would absolutely support a ganking mechanics buff that could equalize a mass-multiboxing nerf. And I am open for most solutions, as long as it isn’t just “dps up, ehp down”. Piracy would deserve a whole own expansion with mechanics to disable or delay CONCORD intervention, chances to get away after a robbery, fighting back the NPC-police to a degree and clear benefits coming from an outlaw-career. However, thats probably content for another topic.

It would be awesome if there was a way to implement legit game mechanics that supported ransoming, and other pirate like mechanics in hi sec.

After that time period probably 30% multibox.

Anyone who doesn’t basically just sits in Jita or Amarr buying and selling (or scamming) and is pretty lonely. Or, by some slim chance - joined some 0.0 corp and is having a lot of fun using just one account and is oblivious to the benefits of multiboxing.

I play 99% of my time solo, and I ain’t lonely at all. Neither are other solo pilots, nor do we sit in Jita or Amarr. So just because you feel the need to surround yourself with alts doesn’t mean others need to.

I’m not in Null either, I’m just chilling in HS enjoying my own company while doing a little mining/exploration/missioning etc. I can lose myself in the game, or in a book without the need for others.

Yes because they are probably too lazy to do the networking to build a real and dedicated group like in many MMOs.

So, they just play in their own bubble being socially awkward in RL and now in a pixel game. Wishing they could multibox RL.

A bizarre misperception, given that a good deal of multiboxing is actually within group fleets containing multiple people. A very common use of multiboxing for such fleets is for scouting…where one needs to have real time info and cannot keep logging accounts on and off.

I feel like as a 1 account person I am replaceable by a boxer who makes billions/hr.

Social standing is tied to the number of alts you can manage. Especially in incursions. Heck, it used to be who had the best officer gear there but that doesn’t matter vs a person who can multibox 15+ modest abyssal pallys etc.

My experiences with rich multiboxers are ok. Great people. I just don’t feel like I can go manage 5 (random number) accounts to be on a level playing field with most. Sadly, I will always be pretty much a second class capsuleer in social circles. Just the way EVE is and I can’t change that. I am too utopian in this regard.

Goly, I wish we had 200k+ unique players and multiboxing would not have this impact on people like me.

I dislike multiboxing for multiple reasons. That said, its part of Eve’s “culture” (for lack of a better term) and its unlikely that will change anytime soon.

CCP makes good money off multiboxing and therefore have no real reason to try to stop it from happening. And if they did, a lot of players would likely quit.

I voted curse, but it is what it is… and its not going to change because its part of Eve’s fabric and revenue stream.
