Survey needed to ask the community about multiboxing

I would love to give feedback about multiboxing, and see what other people think about it.

But multiboxing isn’t even in the list of EVE Online problems/not problems.

It’s a huge part of the EVE Online experience, yet not a single question in the survey mentions it?

I have no issue with multiboxing…but then I multibox so I wouldn’t

It would be nice if there was some sort of discount for each additional account.

My opinion on multi-boxing? If the game allows it, great, go for it. I won’t multi-box in PvP even when allowed. It is a crutch. It shows to the other players, they can play 2 or 3 times better than you do. Even if they don’t figure out the fact that f4tb0y one, f4tb0y two, f4tb0y three … all belong to you, you would still know, you are relying on a system to out perform them in numbers. In short, you are just cheating yourself out of a rewarding victory. So that is my opinion, not that it matters. In fact, I am certain it is antimatter. o7

But not all multiboxing is simply f4tboy and his alts in some blob fleet. I’ve had chars do completely different things. For example one char firing at station and having to constantly watch out for being neuted/targeted so as to call for logi…while another char tries to bump a loot thief who is hanging about. This has nothing to do with doing anything faster…it is quite literally doing two completely different things at the same time.

We had this debate already lol

I don’t think it’s good for the game, but I also don’t think CCP has any intention of disallowing it.

Ideally, CCP would make more interactive gameplay that rewards players giving the game attention, but that still wouldn’t stop multiboxers unless the minigame was required to operate your ship, because if it were just optional, the active play would need a massive game breaking buff that would be impossible to balance.

Example: make a player aim the guns of their ship instead of having it be automatic (such as in world of warships,) make target acquisition be more of a manual process – inputting range and other factors to get a weapons grade lock, etc. ← imo that might be fun for a game, but probably not for EVE.

Since EVE depends extremely heavily on multiboxing for a functioning game, I don’t think you will find any argument against it from informed players. From uninformed players, on the other hand, you’ll get the wildest and most game damaging ideas and suggestions.

@TA5E Do you mean to say that some players are SO bad at the game that they need to play several characters at the same time?!? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I refer to the issue as excessive multi-boxing. I think two accounts is fine, maybe four, but after that it is kinda meh.

And where is the limit ? Somone will say 2 is excessive and others will say 20 is excessive… where do you draw the line and why do you draw it at this point. Doesnt make sense to restricz multiboxing into any limit ! Allow it or not but enything between is inconsequence ! And we all known that disallowing multinoxing is absolutley devastating for eve !

It might not be good for your game…but it is good for mine. Since when were you a spokesperson for ‘the’ game ?

Right now I can run up to 22 accts at once. But I rarely run more than eight. Market watchers, buyers, builders, couriers… the usual.

So, I guess you might say I’m okay with multiboxing.

My point was that multiboxing wasn’t present in the survey. I’m not saying multiboxing is good/bad/cheese/hamburger or anything on that.

Though personally, I find multiboxing a fun way to play the game. Downside is, It’s expensive if I don’t use PLEX.

You should stop drinking while you’re making posts on the forum. You might sound more coherent if you do.

Ah…well if silly ad hominems is all you have left then thank you for conceding the argument.

I think there’s a hard line between pre CCP selling SP and post CCP selling SP players.

These days you can buy your way into a well rounded character whereas back when I was making characters you had to choose a specialty and stick with it. Thus I ended up with a Guristas pilot, a hauler pilot, a Sansha pilot, a builder, a marketeer, a carrier pilot, etc.

So now I have all these specialists and I’m damn well going to use them.

That’s good to know, we look forward to their forum posts.

Why would I post with someone not me?
