Ive seen the term high “safe space” used here and want point out, theres no such thing. Yes theres high security space, but that dose not in any way imply “safe space”. That just simply dose not exist. The moment you undock you run the risk of getting poped. Now on average thats not likely to happen very often unless youve really pissed someone off or your not taking proper precautions someplace like Jita. But the same goes for the rest of the game, take proper precautions, dont fly a hulk with nothing but mining upgrades and no tank and complain when your one shot by a couple cats.
But why do you insist on making it so in your comments. Still you are wrong about mining, it can be a very lucrative and group orientated pastime in Eve especially outside of hisec.
I think they did some changes that made it more difficult to gank miners in the last year or so. Added HP to barges and you can no longer dock in hi-sec, maybe something else.
Gankers who really like to gank do it a lot no matter what. It is kind of fun, you should try it sometime to get new perspectives.
interesting graphic. now in a game where one of the main goals is to gain wealth, it’s normal to have a 1.5-2 ratio intuitively i would say. here the ratio is 3 but out of those 2trillion profits every 3 trillions produced, a fraction will get destroyed in money sinks (taxes, skills, bpo) and also i guess like in the real world, 20% of the most experienced capsuleers takes 80% of that pie, and these people store those benefits into cap ships and titans that they will rarely undock, citadels etc wich leaves a somewhat slow and regular enrichment for the common player i suppose. its actually hard to judge. couldt or could not be
Because it’s a PvP game and no one should be penalized for playing it as a PvP game.
you can’t kill people in cities or of your own faction in a ton of good pvp games that’s not a valable argument i would say. but i got the point and this discussion has changed my pov about ganking kind of
since eve is about players production unlike a classical rpg it makes sense that there has to be more destruction
You can have ten tons of good PvP games, they’re not EvE.
That’s the circle production-destruction, that is the motor that keeps EvE going.
Banning all ganking in HS is the extreme end of the anti-gank spectrum. Just like how abolishing HS and having free reign for PVPers is on the other end of the spectrum.
There is a good middle ground.
#moderate POVs
Killings non-war players should result in a harsher security drop imo. If you want to heavily PvP either jump into factional warfare on the pirate side, or move down into low/null.
Highsec is supposed to be the landing ground for new players to build up resources and learn the game.
That’s true for the rookie systems, there are thousands of other high sec systems though, all with less security rating. Many players of EVE do not leave the confines of High Sec, some have even played for 20 years, it’s not so full of new players as you seem to portray there is. CCP has always said that Ganking is a valid playstyle. High sec is not safe sec.
Ganking is a valid style of play, but CONCORD being an automatic death sentence very much shows that there are supposed to be penalties for doing so willy nilly in HigSec.
I feel that people who suicide attack a ship with a throw away alt account, and then loot on their real account, or another alt, are side stepping what’s supposed to be a deterrent.
Not much of a difference from using a dozen accounts to farm Veldspar, is there?
But if your issue is with alt account usage, you’ll have to go back in time to somewhere around…2011…I’d say? That’s when CCP decided to shift their primary revenue generation strategy from recruiting new players to making existing players pay for as many accounts as possible.
Already ahead of you. (And yes, I do view that as a problem as well. x20 bots/boxes will vastly outstrip anything a single player could ever output on their own.)
Basically. both sides of this “debate” play fun little games. Hell some FW awox crews are multiboxers.
Which has you confused as hell when their bio is crap about warring on multibox sea gulls and leeches. with the rather convenient corp membership, now clearing full sites so assumed full LP transfer to corp wallet. No conflict of interest there…/s.
My family was soooo poor, we couldn’t afford to pay attention.
Yeah that line caught my eye as well.
(Look at whatcha made me do, I am agreeing with Aiko)

there is no problem with ganking … if you have a problem with ganking its only personal !
There are worse things in this game really. I got my first awox last night. its the friendly gank.
Saw they were already known on discord no need to report, moved on. One less ship to fly/move out at the end of this fob cycle lol. That line has replaced “didnt want that ship anyway” for me.
