Need fit for WH exploration

so me and my friend want to explore some wormholes and make some profit. he is flying a probe to hack and I am flying a executioner to escort. but I want to know if its possible to also fit a probe launcher, and data + relic analyser. can anyone plz give a fit? also cause we are budget explorers we can only afford t1 modules. thanks.

yes you can fit what you want on your executioner, including probve scanner and relic/data anylzer, but 1) you won’t have hull bonuses for these modules, and 2) you will loose tank and dps.
also what do you expect to do in your executioner to escort him??? wormholers are usually experienced pleyers, and i don’t see what your executioner will do, except, maybe, if you are lucky, catch another explo in an explo ship, which is not what i understand as “escorting”

Here are basic fits for Probe and Imicus as per your specification.

[Probe, StarterEdition]
Nanofiber Internal Structure I
Nanofiber Internal Structure I

5MN Quad LiF Restrained Microwarpdrive
Scan Rangefinding Array I
Relic Analyzer I
Data Analyzer I

Core Probe Launcher I

[Empty Rig slot]
Small Gravity Capacitor Upgrade I

Core Scanner Probe I x16

The executioner would be pretty much useless and I advise againt using it. Second exploration frigate would be more useful, more fun and more ISK.

You will live and die based on your vigilance and piloting, not by the DPS of the executioner.

Cheers and have fun.

  • Focus on exploration. Learn to scan down signatures quickly
  • Get your hacking & archeology skills leveled up so it’s easier to hack the cans
  • Keep mashing the “v” key for d-scan
  • Learn to use d-scan
  • Make safe spots
  • If you see other scanner probes on d-scan be very, very cautious. Be aligned & ready to warp
  • Keep mashing the d-scan button
  • If you see combat probes, RUNNNNN!!!
  • Consider changing neutrals to show up with a yellow background on your overview. Then when the inevitable cloaky bastard uncloaks next to you he’ll show up a bit more then all the grey that is there.
  • Consider training into a cloak. Makes sitting in a safe spot much safer.
  • Realize that one halfway decent relic site will more than pay for your ship
  • Bring 2 sets of probes
  • Don’t cherry pick the cans (I actively hunt people who do this. If you scan the cans for the best loot and move on that’s fine. Just activate the analyzer and turn it off twice to fail the hack. This takes at most 30 seconds. The sites will propagate quicker than letting them sit unfinished)
  • Soon you’ll realize that data sites aren’t worth the hassle

I want to share something but their are hunters here. :expressionless: I know, you will learn more explo strategy as time passes by. Just consider your ships lost when you enter a wormhole.

Some of us are just opportunistic hunters. Besides I’m on a sabbatical from hunting
Also I have a bad habit of sending ISK to my victims students if they’re not whiners. Usually enough to replace their ship

Or don’t think that you’re alone if you don’t see anyone else on d-scan.

okay thanks, guess I will fly my magnate then. should I consider putting weapons on my ship at all?

Don’t rush, My suggestion is Just try first the PVE side of wh. Then decide if you want the pvp side. Majority of Your opponents there are covert cloak. So I suggest that you try first a wh where only small ships can pass destroyers and frigate. Your really in the disadvantage if you go in wh with no cloak. P.S: always spam the d-scan to give you 2% additional chance of survival.

but if your in the rush for pvp this is a ganker fit.

oh okay thanks. but wormhole PVE is not as profitable as hacking sites right? also can I just shoot random NPC in wormholes? how powerful does my ship need to be in order to handle C1-C3 wormhole’s NPC? are they naturally hostile?

here is excel file with all infos for tank DPS, neut, remote rep, trigger, ISK und all.

If you’re going just for relic & data sites I wouldn’t bother with weapons. Your best weapon will be staying aware through d-scan and being ready to get out quickly. Being able to do the hacking mini game quickly is important. So is being able to do the hack while keeping an eye on d-scan.
Anyone jumping you is going to be fit to kill you, and do it quickly. Remember a cloaky ship has to wait 5 seconds once they decloak before they can start to target you. (Except for stealth bombers) If you are paying attention you have the advantage. I think it’s better to orbit the can at 2000m rather than sit still while hacking. If you’re sitting still it’s very easy to bump you while they wait to lock you. (Speaking from experience)

I’d say any WH is fine to explore in. Big ships are more than likely not going to be hunting little explorers. Look for WHs leading to Unknown Space.
While a cloak is nice, you don’t need one if your fly smart.

  • Jump in the Wh. You have a jump cloak for 60 seconds where you are invulnerable as long as you don’t move.
  • If someone is on the WH jump back through
  • If not hit d-scan to see if anyone is around
  • Bookmark the exit (Cuss at yourself every time you forget to do this)
  • Pick a celestial somewhere and warp at a random distance from it (not zero)
  • Make a safe spot in mid warp
  • When you land immediately head in a random direction using you MWD. (I’ve hunted explorers many times where I found them on d-scan, landed on grid with them, but they were zooming around so fast there was no way I could get close to them)
  • If you sit still for too long you can be found with d-scan if you are near a celestial. In a safe spot they will only find you with combat probes

As someone who has been known to hunt explorers on occasion, if you follow these guidelines you will increase your chances. Eventually you will get popped, but you’ll make more than enough to cover the loss.

your a decent hunter but their is a lunatic with a punchable face that always in my mind when I enter wh.

The guide is broken, only the first page is displayed. Ok, Sites 1-3, 6, 7 are broken. 4,5 sites are ok.

As others have said, don’t bother fitting a tank or weapons. You need to probe quickly, open cans quickly and align and warp in a laser fast manner. Even then you are going to lose ships, so keep it cheap until you get good at it and 1 or 2 sites will easily pay for your loss.

Also, contact whoever killed you and ask them what you could have done better. A lot of people will give you ship replacement money simply for having a good attitude and a willingness to learn from your mistakes.
