I mean null, low and wh is bigger than the empire area, so no I do not want, nor recommend PvP being shoved in a corner. PvP is great and can be fun. Ganking, Griefing, and anything of that nature is semi if not fully toxic for any game, and why it should be removed.

17K people online almost 8K systems in-game, and around 2K of the people are always in the Jita area. . Plenty of space for everyone,
And yes lots of people don’t like PvP solely, people come into the game to go into their own world, whatever that may be. When High sec becomes a consensual PvP area only, the same carrots will have to be given to get people out of there, and my point in the thread. If I or you like it PCU numbers are not going up, and changing nothing and acting like something is going to change, is a plan for failure.

Exactly. Huge amount of space. Gankers are easy to avoid. Back when i was mining i found a nice quiet system and despite loggin in for a few hours almost every day i went close to a year and never even saw a ganker.
Gankers congruate in busy systems where there are targets. They have no reason to go further afield. If players want to do their PVE where gankers live they are chosing to accept that level of risk.
So again………Its an overstated problem. Its a non-issue.

When your position boils down to “i want to get rid of ganking, what can i use to justify that? oh yes the PCU is really low. Lets connect that to ganking. That will show Etch.” Thats a perfect example of small blinkered thinking. You are failing to consider any aspect of the game that isnt ganking both in cause and effect.
We have definitely reached the point now where this is pointless. You are ignoring facts, you are making wild assumptions, you are wrongly atributing things to ganking. Its been fun. Have fun out there.
I agree with what you are saying above about quiet systems or less traveled systems, but it isn’t an overstated problem or a non-issue. Ganking is an issue in-game that needs to be addressed. Should PvP be removed from the game no? There is plenty of space I believe both situations can exist. And if the PvE players get less because they choose that route, then that is their choice.
The point wasn’t solely the PCU numbers are tied to ganking, don’t be silly Etch. There are other fundamental issues in-game, and plenty of other threads for that. I don’t know the ganking numbers, maybe paying pilots is thousands and it is a huge money maker, if the case then CCP probably won’t do anything unless they can see how it prevents them from making more money another way. If the vast majority are free accounts, not paying to be in-game, and it is little revenue then we would expect change. It is just business, I would do the same if in their shoes.
Maybe you do think small Etch, your vision beyond naysaying hasn’t really blossomed in this thread. But your sole argument for ganking to stay in the game is it props up the destruction numbers. And it does create destruction, but I think better destruction in a less toxic manner can be achieved. Why should gankers lose their gameplay? They won’t, they just need to do it in low, wh, or null. This would possibly create really decent content in low sec, which people say is pretty bare.
I will miss you Etch. Even though you have signed off, when bored, it will come. Make sure to come give me some harassment, otherwise, I will feel neglected.

Yesterday I ganked 10 years old pilot autopiloting Leopard to Jita.
And he immediately sent me a mail asking “Why?”.
So I explained him, but he persistent. “But what did you get from it?”
And when I explained him that I got kill mail he replied “But I had nothing in cargo! This is wrong!”
After which I blocked him. I really hope this player quits after this experience, how he managed to only lose single ship in wh in his entire career is a mystery to me, but he is clearly playing the wrong game. Poor guy, he paid and played this game 10 years till he figured out.
With this I think it is our duty to gank as many new players as possible as soon as possible. It is in their own interested. The sooner they realize this is pvp game and there isn’t perfect safety anywhere the better.

You have to understand that in a game like EVE where the economy is delicate having 1 perfectly safe place means uncontrolable resource abandance and becomes harmful for the game.
As an example look at the mix of Capital umbrella + mass rorq they where super safe at the time and they ■■■■■■ the market so hard that CCP had to make a year worth of nerfs just to stabilize everything again.
I don’t think you have enough knowledge of Eve to be asking for Eve to change.

Mr James’ knowledge of EVE may be better than mine, which is limited to those areas of the game in which I find the greatest satisfaction.
But of one thing I am certain; if your knowledge of a topic is narrow and slight, and you attempt to use that knowledge to support your opinions (however sincerely held), you will not be able to sustain a cogent and persuasive argument; and certainly not in the presence of people who do know what they’re talking about.
You will instead be reduced to the fall-back position beloved of the assertive ignoramus; emphatic repetition.
Mr James would do well to absorb the lesson presented in Matthew 7:24-27, and to build the house of his opinions upon rock rather than sand.

I mean yes remove ganking, but no don’t make it safe. I have expressed this a few times but it doesn’t need to be a safe area, simply replace ganking with NPC. Similar to the Triglivain invasion, FOB in High Sec systems. One could be very creative here with this.
I would argue it still isn’t fixed, you just have Hulks doing the same. But nevertheless, protected space in Null is pretty safe. We have talked about it, but it isn’t a secrete when someone that doesn’t belong comes into the system. Of course, a roqual like an orca now are stuck in space until their industrial cores cycle off.

Yes, I have plenty of different posts. A thread of ideas if you will, none acceptable the game is perfect they say. However, no replacement ideas suggested.
To have the argument I don’t need to know the solution. We exchange ideas about the topic of the thread and see where it lands or doesn’t.
