That isn’t the only conversation being had here. The changes to the game I referenced weren’t even anti ganking nerfs they were proposed changes by shipwreck jones some of whom I had questions about and wanted to know more about because they were genuinely interesting.

But the whole of Eve is ultimately salt mining. The entire ecosystem has at its pinnacle one ship bashing another. That is the end product of all the mining, hauling, etc. A kill. Without kills the entire economy of Eve is a waste of time.
Ok so to clarify. I’m not talking about smack talk and I’m not talking about people getting upset because they lost ships. Both things are pretty natural.
I’m talking about the element of the community that looks out for those reactions and instead of ignoring the people that are losing their cool in chat, they wind them up into a frothing mess.
Because I’m not pro someone’s emergent play style being nerfed. Also because it’s been a fairly interesting and entertaining thread in parts.

At the end of the day someone losing a Procurer is losing 60p worth of ship. Barely the cost of the froth on a pint of beer. Not worth going into cardiac arrest over.
Ganking is balanced, so these people have no reason to be upset.
Absolutely so when someone is getting into a frothing mess over it there is probably something deeper wrong with them and they aren’t they person to make sport over.

Aiko’s bunch are pirates, with a whole pirate lore that includes a despising of miners. So of course they mock, demand people buy mining permits, etc. That is who they are playing in the game. I’ve been in the ‘Why Was I Ganked ?’ channel for some time and it is generally low level making sport…usually with more emphasis on crap fits. Its usually a small portion of the gankees that are foul mouthed and abusive.
No I don’t save chat logs. I can tell you how the conversation went. Someone asked for help with Dagan. Someone got ganked in the system. Someone else in system said they hoped you hadn’t ganked the person asking for help with Dagan. Someone said “he got an escalation” then this dude started getting super salty in chat and people piled on top of him winding him up.
I actually reported the guy getting wound up because he said something that was not ok. However I couldn’t help but feel a little bad for him because people were obviously making sport of his public melt down at the same time.
