If CCP allows it, then it’s not griefing.
Griefing, by definition, is an abuse of game mechanics. If an activity is allowed by the game developer, then by definition it is not griefing.

By that definition I was ‘griefed’ when a 1100 DPS Mega Laser Praxis psychopathically warp scrammed me ( I mean what a dastardly griefing thing to do ) in a 0.3 system and destroyed my Gnosis. I mean…I never invited the conflict. I was just trundling along minding my own business and this nasty Praxis owner decided to vent their frustration with life on me. CCP should ban this sort of thing !

The thing I like about EVE, is that it is a sandbox. I can go from ganking some people and teaching them to EVE, to roaming low, to flying an atron to Hek to fight a nestor that sadly never undocked

But I could claim my character is upset by any loss, anywhere. Highsec, lowsec, nullsec, wh…clearly the only reason anyone would want to destroy my ship is to grief me. If I feel griefed…that must be the case…by your definition of griefed.
All PvP should thus henceforth be removed from Eve, in case anyone feels upset.
Lucas apparently doesn’t understand the concept that people’s perceptions vary from person to person and are subjective.
Oh and that making assertions about other people’s internal motivations is inherently impossible.

Post on a character with at least one kill or loss in 2022. If you actively play the chances you have an empty killboard for over a year on all characters is very low.

It makes the point very well indeed. Any use of DPS in Eve could be defined as griefing. It’s not exactly a nice thing to do…to warp scram someone and deprive them of their ship, whether it is in highsec or lowsec or null. So how do you define the ‘motivation’ of lowsec gate campers differently to that of highsec gankers just because one gets blapped by Concord and the other doesn’t ??
In both cases they want a kill…and let’s face it…lowsec is actually even more a case of big ‘bullies’ ganging up and blapping tiny little ships. There’s nothing stopping gate campers blapping absolutely anything that comes through…they don’t even have to worry about working out EHP…even blap shuttles that gankers in highsec would not waste time on. There’s no way you’d find 4 Tornadoes taking on a Tristan in highsec…yet it happens all the time at gate camps.
So howcome highsec gankers are griefer bullies and lowsec gate campers ( whom you have never once mentioned ) are not ?
