Nerf Ganking Megathread

“HurururuURURrur I hAvE sOuRcEs ThAt R cReDiBlE”

You’ve just earned yourself a temporary permanent block, ganker shrill. :smirk:

He is literally the king of “I know a guy” LOL.

“Yeah I know a guy, who knows a guy. Not exactly a friend, but you could say he’s a friend of hours. Let’s just call him “Sammy the Bullshitter” G. As they say where I’m from, bada bing bada bong, or something like that. Don’t go around loose-lipping it though, cat fish? Okay, gabagool.”

You seem a bit upset and toxic, go gank something to calm down. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yennoe, I’m not sure you know what toxic means.

Yeesh man, this game has affected you in a harsh way.

When I first started playing as a solo hisec miner a year or so ago, I got into minechat. Pretty natural conversations, but what started to happen is what I am now calling veldspar poisoning.

Others have probably reported similar symptoms or used the phrase before. What I experienced was the sensation that many other players were following a secret narrative to destroy me. Not that I was special, but I thought that anyone who mined like me was going to be a target of this secret narrative.

I was seeing patterns where there were none… or was I?

Something tells me that the surfacing feelings you are having about collusion against you are true. You are simply mistaken as to the cause. Aiko (or whomever in your head you think is the leader of a secret tirade against you) has nothing to do with why many forum dwellers are against you. You dug this hole all by yourself.

On topic: people like Drac are why ganking (or at least nonconsensual hisec combat) needs to be buffed. He is the embodiment of many players who are against ganking. Completely and utterly submersed in paranoia and fear.

When I stopped primarily playing like prey, wouldn’t you know it, I felt much better about trusting other players. If more prey players could be drawn into the actual PvP of the game, then it would certainly shine brighter.

You know something about you trying to invoke an emotional response from me with a reply like that is funny.

Ok, so I ganked something and I don’t feel any different. Although I did convo them after and explain in detail why they died. See I told them that a player named Dracvlad paid me to gank them. They responded by saying that they were going to quit the game now. Well, I hope you feel good now.

LOL, you know that does not work with me.

“Why was I attacked?”

“To provide content for anti-gankers”

You should get t-shirts made.

I guess being a spectator is content. They just tend to watch me while I kill things. :man_shrugging:

Cant upvote this enough.

Funny I would say those are the same reason people become gankers , in reverse order though

Welp, Master Luke was right on this one.

Ganking is actually a high social activity. I’ve often found PvP minded people to be more social than the average bear.

Theres more to pvp than ganking .

In fact comparing pvp to ganking is like comparing hunting to shooting fish in a barrel

Of course there’s more to PvP, and yet ganking is also PvP.

Its only fish in a barrel because the majority of them don’t even use the plethora of in-game meta to escape their death.

Ganking isn’t a low tier activity. If players actually played and had situational awareness, esp in high sec, it’d be a lot harder.

Ganking is only “easy” cause the majority of people labor under the delusion that high sec is safe. That delusion gets them killed and salt mined.

The frontline is everywhere bruv.

Why are the fish in a barrel?

No idea tbh youve got me there shrug

Should probably shoot them, right?

Not really no …
