… he’s talking about what other people say…
Nice out-of-context quote there. The second one is immediately preceded by the pivotal statement of ‘such comments are usually made by people who are trying to put down a play style. They’ll often say things like:’
Emphasis mine.
To be fair, I did add that line for clarity. Personally, I think most people could have figured it out without me adding that line, but I’ve misinterpreted other people’s posts before (especially when I’m trying to do two things at once, like travel in Highsec and use the forums). Moreover, I don’t think he was trying to maliciously misrepresent what I was saying. Thus, I chalk this one up to a genuine communication error, and not any bad faith arguing.
You’re very charitable.
You posted:
“They’ll often say thing like: (statements)” so I find it very hard to assume good faith, especially when the person added some “witty” remark about your brain splitting or w/e. It’s a very GenZ way of being an antagonistic dick.
I like what Clary says , totally right, well written.
I’m sure it’s all about perspective Aiko the emoji princess thinks it’s her space so that’s right for her.
I have my reasons to AG and they are right for me
This is why they should go find action in low or null, or WH, roams into those places eliminate boredom because it doesn’t take long to find something or a nice fight.
Many times those kind don’t know until they come back, again as I’ve posted before, why seek out those who don’t want interaction, simply the fact it annoys is the joy, a pest enjoying being a pest, nothing more nothing less.
As far as I understand most gankers (aside for profit) gank afk-ers because they disapprove their gameplay. Which seems logical as the polar opposite of interaction in a massively multiplayer game is what afk gameplay brings to the experience. Well I guess gankers find a way to interact with them in a meaningful way afterall.
In my personal opinion everyone can play as they want as this is a sandbox but nobody should be exempt of the dangers of space and non-consensual player interaction (within the game’s rules) and also people who “play” the game afk should face consequences as much as possible. They have the right to be afk but also are not entitled to do it without risks involved and imo the more risk is involved with such "play"style the better for the health of the game.
Right, but it is a DEV problem, the fact mining is as it is would melt the brain of even brainless entities, so people do the AFK because it is tedious and boring (mining), and very unprofitable for solo players.
If CCP changed mining to be likened to PI where you set your extraction process then come back later, and make it so people either do PI or mining PI, or mix of both, we are allowed up to 6 planets so let the players choose which PI activity they want.
The balance will be easier to control because CCP can rebalance extractions if needed, now the way it is all they can do is the junk they’ve done by making major unpopular changes because they are trying to control bots instead to using the bots to help them, they can’t control every individual bot but they can adjust extraction amounts while making mining a PI activity where we don’t have to be AFK and go find other activities to pursue.
The solution to making mining more interesting, is to give miners a fun minigame to play. For example, explorers enjoy minesweeper, and miners deserve TETRIS.
Basically, minerals would float into your hold, and you would have to quickly position them in order to maximize your yield. If you position them poorly, they just stack up and your hull overflows. Furthermore, if you stack Fiery Kernite next to Mexallon, your spaceship explodes. Also, from time to time, mining weevils will infest your hold, and you will have to click them out the airlock before they eat all your ore! Fun!
They can also add an expansion pack. For example, if you dock your infested barge into a hangar, then weevils can spread to other ships and even other hangars. The weevils will start to take up space in cargoholds, and over time they will begin to eat away at your hull, armor, and modules. If you spend too much time in an infested ship, it’s possible that weevils will even get in your pod and eat implants.
3 edits in 1 minute, your attempt at something witty is not translating, the reason it’s not is because you know and everyone knows how boring it really is, but it would solve 1 eternal problem, griefers vs miners, so CCP doesn’t have to hear feces from players and these mega threads that devolve into who can drop the biggest turtle.
Calm down miner.
Same message for years, how many canned messages do you have sitting around, that one lost it’s luster long ago.
Would you like to buy a mining permit?
But they don’t win, they get shot up, even if you get nailed by Concord first right?
Isn’t your only real adversary a timer?
I don’t fully understand the mechanics of this still, but that’s what it’s sounding like from your description.
Remember long ago , not sure why this happened but high sec was mined out , you could never find a belt with rocks I do remember miners moaning a lot and CCP did change the spawn rate , the next day after a change the belts where humongous.
But that just made new problems as we have today
Of course not, the miner is protected by his own wits, his experience and skill, his hull, his armor, his shields, his rigs, his warpdrive, his maneuverability, his guns and drones, his fleet mates, local chat, political and diplomatic organization, social intrigue, personal charm, spatial awareness, friendly citadels and stations, gate guns, faction police, kill rights, his ability to purchase a mining permit or otherwise negotiate for mining rights, and any wouldbe carebear whiteknights who might come to rescue him!
CONCORD is merely a secondary factor, in which I voluntarily agree to duel the miner under the rigorous conditions that 1) I must win within a few seconds, 2) my ship will explode even if I do win, and 3) I also agree that any of the miner’s friends or random bystanders are free to shoot at me without CONCORD interference.
My fair Queen, Aiko danuja certainly doesn’t need me to speak on her behalf, as I am but a humble servant several-fold martyred by CONCORD.
BUT If I may point out a factor you are trying desperately to avoid, is plans within plans. The bigger picture, if you will. While the ultimate conclusion to the suicide is Martyrdom at the blazing fire of CONCORD, it plays into a bigger plan.
The root of all EVE: The Isk game.
When the chariots of 315 ride to their deaths, the isk lost is a fraction compared to the unlawful vessels you dwell within. The blood that runs through the New Order’s veins is ISK, and the so long as benefactors support the cause, there is not a miner in EVE that can win through attrition, I.E. Waiting until We can no longer cast the mighty frames of the Catalyst, nor afford the power of the void that spews from our guns and curses your unlawfulness.
Just FYI, bypassing acceleration gate ship restrictions is considered an exploit.
