NEw edecon ships help?

I’d say they are AT missiles that require primary target to lock onto
(AT missiles do not need to lock at all as it is right now - onl yneeds “valid” targets in-range)

Let’s be honest: there’s really only one way to fit these ships.

Cruiser suited for F1 warfare. (T3C shield links, 2LSEs are RF and the PDS is TS, so 30mil ontop for each of these)

here we go … read that:

I meant that you have to lock a target and fire on it to start the chain lightning, but the other 4 hits are kinda like FOF missiles in that those targets don’t need to be locked to be hit.*

It’s a bit more effort but might feel similar, I imagine (I haven’t tried 'em out yet on TQ or on SiSi but have watched it on youtube).

*note: FOFs do require either receiving aggro from a target or for you to activate a TP or other ewar mod or put yer drones on a target or fire a regular missile first and then change ammo to FOFs to get the party started, but that’s a one time per system thing if you don’t dock up, so ignoring that for the purposes of the comparison.

Missioners have already started dying to the arc effect damage being chained onto suspect baiters. I need to go get mine as well.

errata: FOF missiles does not require being agressed before they fire. They can and will fire at “legitimate targets in range” that does not even have a lock on you and never did. This is why they are subject to suspect baiting - they will treat suspect as legitimate enemies, and can target it.

That being said some of the early invasion modifiers to the trig side (my bet is on -50% of available target locks) appears to be breaking this behaviour.

EDIT: after a bit more of testing it’s not modifiers that break it - so far the only common thing between runs when was able to just fire AT missiles away and between times I couldn’t is the size of the fleet I was in - in smaller fleets it resulted in “no valid target” and in bigger ones it worked.and both cases being in invasion systems. At this point I am unsure which one is properly expected behaviour for AT missiles.

I was speaking mostly to FOF behavior with NPCs, if that wasn’t clear by most of my post. I’ve never used them in PVP, personally, so I can’t speak to that.

As an occasional FOF user in HS PVE, I’ve always been concerned by that possibility you mention above, but the one time I was firing FOFs and a suspect entered grid, they did not fire on the suspect, so… if that’s true, it’s only true sporadically/with exception. Working as intended? ;D

I have figured out the issue with AT missiles in invasion systems - there is a sort of safety mechanism for you to not fire on “wrong” side, for each separate invasion you need to agress one of the sides for them to start picking valid targets from them.

I was speaking of PvE applications as well, in particular suspect baiting is getting into people’s missions and lighting up a suspect in seemingly “weak” ship fitted for pvp and blasting expensive pve fit for freebie.

as far as I understand it, it’s random, just as with vorton projectors  it may fire on them but may just as well not. if a free moment I will try to get a hold of one friend to test it out to be sure

good to know, remains fun

So i’v been flying the ships and testing them out a good amount on an alt.
I am no expert just a dedicated vet.
This lineup is good tho needs extensive planing and controlling the battle field to be effective.
T2 Ships of this faction can have some interesting possibility if they are given bonuses to an Arcing Ewar & hit and run bonuses.

*Note VoltronArc Ewar Mechanic is a scary change and will definitely break eve. Just imagine Arcing Lodgy.

  • PVP: Super Nish, Good for taking out same size or smaller fleets just due to the insane total damage.
The larger the enemy fleet is the worse the spread is and creating an indirect diminishing return of the damage to targets, sadly this makes it more difficult to hit upwards against much stronger numbers.
Excellent for taking out separate logy wing detached from enemy fleet.
Also excellent counters for sentry & groups of smaller ships.
*Literally a bully ship that shoots itself in the foot if you confront them.

  • PVE: This is the best subcap ship in pure damage, especially if you know how combat sites look and how to minimize how many indestructible objects are hit.
Again controlling the battle field is a must and just jumping in the ship and headbutting content is bad every time in my experience. :skull_and_crossbones:

(Yes single target is horrible and understandably why when comparing the insane max damage tho, CCP could balance this by changing the ammo to dictate how many ships gets hit/dps on closer range)*

:bangbang: :bangbang:Confusing? Need an “example” of what i am thinking:
AMMO Type 1: Close-range /Fast re-fire rate /1 Hit /Medium DPS :100:
AMMO Type 2: Mid-range /Mid re-fire rate /3-5 hits /High DPS in total. :upside_down_face:
AMMO Type 2: Long-range /Slow re-fire rate /5-7 hits /Insane DPS in total. :anger:

 Is the ammo a good way to balance & supply help with single target?
 As well help to make them a more fleet viable ship-line?

  • YES!
  • Needs more work.
  • Don’t care.
  • Mostly bad.
  • NO!

The most stupid thing in that weapon system is that it hits collidable objects :man_facepalming:
It should only hit them if You select to shoot them, the same for drones
