New Mechanic - Battleships "Frigate Escape Bay"

Any good Fits for this new “Golden Egg Duck” BS?

that’s exactly the problem: it doesn’t affect you, in the way you play eve.

i see several cases where it could add some fun: I can give you some examples: a bs fleet travels 20 jumps to shoot a structure and have a fight. You die in your bs, you can still be useful to somethg instead of being podded home and trying to come back. Sometimes, some fights even last several hours, with several different fleets with different doctrines in system. You could join the second “small ships” fleet with your frig after your bs got destroyed and keep on fighting. For example, when Init evicted Hard Knocks from the RAGE wormhole, Init had a bs fleet and a stuka fleet. People losing their bs could have joined the stuka fleet. And i am pretty sure that wormholers will find it useful in other circumstances…

So even if it adds nothing to YOUR play style, it could be interesting for others
I just hope it won’t be used solely to save expensive pods

Checks calendar

Is it April 1st?

Huh. Nope it’s not April 1st.

This seems…odd, especially since it only applies to battleships, but hey, let’s see how it plays out…

That will be it’s sole purpose, at least in high sec. If you get ganked in your 5 billion ISK blinged-out missions ship, you aren’t going to stick around and fight in your little frigate, you’re going to get the hell out of there and try to save your 2 billion worth of implants.

I knew this reminded me of something and I finally recall what it is. In Modern Warfare 3, there was this Death Streak called Martyrdom where you dropped a grenade at your feet when you kept dying over and over. This is exactly that. Or better yet, the most hated perk of all, Second Chance…

You have much better chances to escape from 0.0 bubbles by using an Interceptor also.

Fortunately, according to what they’ve said so far, interceptors can’t be used for this purpose. It’s limited to T1 frigates, assault frigates, and e-war frigates.

Aha, so this stuff can be balanced anyway

Like I said, I have no use for this “feature”, but it might find some niche uses. Might be comical in some fleet fights. Wouldn’t help you one bit if you get caught somewhere solo. If it’s 5 on 1, they pop your BS, then you hop out in your little frigate like “Oh yeah? I’m really gonna show you now! Fear my Harpy!” lol. Yeah, you’re gonna die. Again…

Not really possible unless you can fit a hecate in it and you have snakes.

Gimmick, thats all I think of this. What a strange thing to put development time into.

I just need to know if there’s going to be a red dot indicating we loaded a frigate into our BS.

It can actually be useful for adding a tackler to the BS, maybe also to move charges. It can be useful in HS to protect your pod, assuming you use a heavy plated frigate.
Also it can be more useful when they add nullification to shuttles.

I’m not saying it’s a wonderful change, but… just because you cant abuse it, does not mean it’s a bad thing.
I personally think it won’t affect me, but if people find a use to it, I think it’s already a good thing. The only issue I have, is that it can make more bugs in the game.

Expensive implants are used by pilots which roaming hi- and low- sec space mainly. This mechanic can be used as an escpaing shuttle there (maybe in WH also), while in 0.0 fleets almost everybody uses cheap implants to fit CPU, PG or capacitor needs.

But in big 0.0 BS fleet brawls it can be really funny - where the BS are destroyed really fast and they drop addition frigates, which are able to tackle and Ewar the remaining foes. Typhoon fleets can use firgates with Target Painters, Dominix fleets can use frigates with Weapon Disruptors (both tracking or optimal range). Aka, like 50 frigates can disrupt the performance, mobility or DPS of 50 foe’s BS really hard.

Andersen is way beyond any help.

Lol. If you have a low death rate or don’t fly a particular ship often enough vs your death rate then insurance is just throwing away your isk. For insurance to be beneficial you have to die often enough. Thus you buy insurance planning to die. Or maybe you just enjoy throwing more isk away than the value of your lost ships over time in wasted insurance fees? Either way it’s clear who the idiot is.

You really should stop talking to yourself. You’re becoming as second Balos.

Absolutely.

yes, he is a retard.

He does not understand that using insurance only makes sense when you PLAN TO lose your ship.

You forgot to block me again.

Did you just call me names??? Oh dear, hypocrite Andersen is at it again. You should ban yourself.
