Hey developers this seems like a really great idea, thank you for using your heads this time, I like it!

You should really look up what planning means.

I like the idea a lot. Carry a frig with smartbombs, and when your BS goes boom you blow the wreck, denying loot to the victor. Or a ship (e.g. Dramiel) with inertia mods for pod-like align time and a good AB / MWD combo to give you a chance to get out of a bubble before it pops, letting you save your pod.

It adds options to your planning.

IIRC SB don’t affect wrecks.

Really? I’ll have to test that. Still, a fast locking frigate with blasters would do just as well.

The only time I plan to lose my ship is if I am suicide ganking someone. In all other scenarios, I may have a plan as to what to do in the eventuality my ship is destroyed. There’s a difference.

I buy insurance if, in my judgement, the risk of losing my ship is sufficiently high. If I don’t lose the ship, I’m out the insurance money but still ahead of the game compared to losing the ship.

I can use Armags as armour for my assault frigates?

Fing yeeeeoooooo

‘Almost’ useless new feature that - again - nobody asked for.

As so many other people in here have said: you don’t plan on losing ships, and if you do lose a Battleship, a frigate won’t make any difference. :man_facepalming:

Glorified carrier service: its main use is carrying a scanner frigate. Super cool, huh.

the fit I gave is a 27k ehp frig, 90 when activating ADC.

How high up was it? I think I missed it.

I can’t check the numbers right now, but what’s the align time of that thing? Probably too slow to be a gateaway car.

indeed, don’t travel with it. That’s just a pod saver, eg in HS.

Not really.

Although it doesn’t happen that often, how would you like to have a close fight with a BS, kill it, but you are so low you are then killed by his frigate?

1 of 546098536093609378 reasons this is a dumb idea.

:red_circle: Frigate will need to be Ejected at high velocity past any bubbles in null sec otherwise there will be no flight or fight choice as advertised

:red_circle: You will just be giving two kills for the price of one for whoever has the biggest blob

:red_circle: On a more positive note are other ships gonna get this facility

:red_circle: It seems like it would be appropriate for any ships larger than BS as well

:red_circle: In fact you could have Titans that poop out SCs that poop out Carriers that poop out BS that poop out BC that poop out Cruisers that poop out dessys that poop out frigs that poop out corvettes that finally poop out eggs that poop out corpses of course , like Russian nested doll internet spaceships :red_circle:

It’s the Everlasting Gob-Stopper ship of EVE!!! A titan named Willy Wonka would be appropriate.

This is a clever way to make battle ship fleets a little more appealing. Excited to see how it plays out.

But they stated after the loss and the frigate eject there is 60 second immunity to bubbles or target locks so should be easy to get away

I see CCP has given up on balancing battleships by letting them play a different ship upon death.

It’s a funny idea. Imagine if you played a low tier in other games, you would be able to play a second low-tier after your first one loses.

Now when battleship relevance is discussed “Well, they get to play a frigate afterwards!”

Despite battleships getting a 1s align time buff (I think), nerfs to booshing, and now a frigate, I somehow doubt their relevancy. T3/Triglavian/Faction stuff will always be king unless rebalances/major changes are made.
