In my somewhat limited experience, these are the preferred gates for smartbombing, because it is harder to find an out-of-alignment ping to them them (because they are located far away from celestials) - and also because they are outside of dscan range of most (or all) of the celestials.
Yes, there are some gates where they are way above or below the âcelestial diskâ of the system. Thus they are hard to D-Scan or warp from a celestial to create a large enough angle.
For these ones you can warp at range hoping there is not a bubble to pull you in (likely because the bomber wouldnât want to trap themselves, and they also would want to bomb ceptors that can get through bubbles anyway) and just burn to an angle outside of the bombâs radius. or warp away.
Sure they could have a pull/stop bubble and a bomber on the gate. But I just think about how greedy people are. The bomber wouldnât get on kills that are pulled/stopped, and the people on the bubble would miss out on the kills the bomber gets. Also if you have to reposition a lot, then bubbles being in the way of gates is annoying and makes things slower. Targets arenât waiting for you to reposition for them.
If you use the route often where these types of gates exist then just make bookmarks at angles not in line with any celestial. Warp to the bookmark first then down to the gate.
And undock your 4k unscramable frigate.
Whats that? You brought only one full rack smartbombing bs? Oh im sorry, that wasnt enough, no higrade snakes for you.
If we tackled and killed your BS on the gate, we wouldnât be using smartbombs. Why would we bomb our own fleet to kill some âescape podâ? Your âescape podâ would just be tackled like your BS was.
One does not simply tackle a succubus
Because of the spines?
because of oversized AB ?
I think we should allow the mounting of corpses on the spines.
Doesnt have to be oversized, just shiny
I welcome escape frigates worth more than the BS they came out of.
To hide the pod thats worth even more
Why not both ?

Honestly I love this feature, as a WH dweeler itâs really nice to carry a scanning Frig in it.
Plus if a Bs roam goes wrong you can just turn it into a Frig Roam and pretend nothing happend xD
(On a more serious note, we had a few fights in the last weeks which we prob would have won if this feature was in place, namely AssFrigs to hold the fight for a bit longer until the cavalry arrives)
but why ? It has no sig effect.
It looks like one might get a chance to save their pod if they have expensive gear plugged in. The name seems to focus on getting away after a battleship loss. Iâm hoping there is some kind of initial speed boost which will provide a head start to escaping, maybe the energy from the battleship exploding will be harnessed and used to provide a small micro jump if the ship is fitted correctly and skills are trained.
CCP, from SiSi testing, you canât put a BS in a Ship Maintenance Bay if it has a frigate in it.
So if you want to move multiple BS with a bowhead, or store one in a Carrier or Titan, the frigate needs to be offloaded first.
Probably not a big issue, but given the introduction of this feature, it would be good if they could be transported with the frigate in the bay.
I also couldnât unload the frigate into an SMB to then store the BS when in space. So swapping ships doesnât seem possible if there is a frigate in the BS. I need to test that more, but that is a bit more of a PITA.
Youâre right - it isnât. Moving onâŚ
Thanks CCP. You guys are so good.
At the moment on sisi, you just appear in your frigate completely stationary next to your Battleship wreck.
