That is the “Sitting Duck” Maneuver.
Sure, you can keep coming back like instanced PvP in WoW clones.

I’m among the ones who think it is a good idea, even if it is only used to carry a travel fit frigate it means something useful our battleships didn’t have before. I’m looking for to what are the uses people will find for it.
You think is something stupid or useless?. Fine don’t use it and that’s it.
I think it could be a nice incentive to take a battleship into a wormhole instead of a T3 cruiser.
lol, not much of an escape is it.
Black Ops ought to be able to fit a Covert Ops frigate in the bay.
From what has been said i’m confused!!!
Aren’t the frigates meant to be launched from the bay, similar to launching from a stations bay?
It’s not as if the frigate bay is in the center of the battleship and the battleship unfolds on destruction to reveal the frigate.
I would have thought the frigates would launch at the same velocity or near it as they would from a structure.
And they would launch in the direction the bay opening faces (apoc frigate would launch out the sides and head in that direction), if sounds as if CCP failed to brainstorm this to its fullness…
Where does the launchtube fit on an Armag?
The real reason ofc is that its just the pod spawning code.
The Arma has an rear facing on the low bow section.
So the frigate would be launched backwards at speed.
A what? Drone bay?
Some players consider themselves as bots, it seems.
Basically yip, remember frigates aren’t much bigger than heavy drones.
You know, I never thought about it before as I always have drone models off.
Is this true? Fighters must be enormous then.
Now, EDesque fighter bay for 1, that would be fun(ny)
Well the gecko is a fighter, with drone controls instead of pilot controls.
The Arma can house 7 of those, launch 2 with 25mb left for med/ligh drones.
I was locked by another player in his BS before the modules had even finished loading on my AF. Yes it is sisi but nope it doe not bode well and as it is I will not be adding further loss’s for no reason.
Fair point
let me load Sabre in the hold
I see, It would be great if when escape frig goes live it will be slightly harder for aggressors to kill the escape frig. If it does remain the same as it is now on sisi then there is really no point in making it a feature of Eve.
I like they way “escaping” is done in Elite Dangerous. Once a player gets interdicted in Elite then they must line up their ships cross hair with the “escape vector” in order to escape.
CCP need to think more sci-fi with this.
Edit: I think we might need another type of frigate for this, Perhaps it will be a specialised one that has some ECM and mwd/mjump capability. Bubble immunity? Perhaps some sort of burst that nullifies warp scramblers/disruptors for a few seconds, i guess the goal is to make it a 50/50 chance that the frig can either escape or be destroyed.
The New-Mechanic leaves the Frigate too vulnerable.
“Sitting Duck” - No Speed - No Invulnerability-Timer.
I believe that the New-Mechanic may flop if it is implemented as it is right now on Singularity.
I haven’t tested on Sing, but yes it was obvious from the start that if the ejected frigate doesn’t have some speed and perhaps some target-lock delay (a change in sig or lock time because of the surrounding debris etc.) then it would be absolutely useless, instead of just “mostly useless, with some potential for niche situations”.
Not saying the concept is bad, just that as usual CCP can take any idea and implement it so poorly that it becomes a waste of coding time.
