New Structure Asteroid Bases

How so?

Literally the only thing they can’t do anymore is build stuff. In almost every other aspect, a POS is often a better choice than a Citadel

Blueprints and industry still work but have no bonuses. Stuff like reactions, moon mining, and compression don’t but a lot of those structures can still be anchored.

While a lot of POS stuff was poorly documented to begin with, things like Tactical Capsuleer Recloners and their use with POS will fly under the radar as non-wormholers rarely use POS.

I’m fairly new to the game, but it would be nice to just have a structure I could dock into near the asteroid belt to do fitting, and maybe offer a little protection from rats while I step away from the game for a minute. I think it might make more sense for it be sort of a “mobile home”… idk, maybe that’s what carriers do already?

Had to do some digging in my screenshot folder, but here’s one. It’s an Angel cruiser you can find in the missions Damsel In Distress and Angel Extravaganza. As far as I know, there’s no player model for this ship. Looks like a mix between a Cruor and a Cynabal. I’ll keep digging and see if I can find the other one.

You’re looking to toss a POS up on the moon closes to the belt you’re in and stick a Hangar Array in it.

You shouldn’t need protection from rats, because you shouldn’t be in a belt while AFK. Warp to the POS you put up and that will protect you from players while you’re AFK.

A small POS tower can be setup and taken down in under 10 minutes, a medium in 15 minutes. Slap a full bay of fuel in it and it’ll keep you safe for 2 weeks. If you want to get exciting, you can even arm it. All of this can be packed within a single DST. Seems quite suitable for a “mobile home,” doesn’t it?

Well, I stand corrected. I found a player model ship for it. It’s called a Moracha, and it’s an Alliance Tournament Recon ship. Something that most of us will never see. I didn’t even know it existed until now.

never would have paid attention to it…

maybe we can just capture them, use the invasion / conquest mechanics for ownership of these structures instead of directly building them or making it about balance, make it something a skilled solo player or small gang can defend and scatter them through the game, a sort of micro sov warfare, you only own the structure for X amount of time, fighting off NPC’s & PC groups, bringing that PVX Game Play from vanguard to EVE Online and allow for more lowsec, WH and HS groups to have some fun with it.
