In the past 3 years, I never saw the storms show up in Jita. This makes sense. Why add server load for no good reason if they removed Jita’s asteroid belts? But unlike other events, the Winter Nexus “moves” around. If you are in a Strong Volatile Ice Storm, every adjacent system is in a storm, either weak or strong. But this would imply the strong storms can never get near Jita, since that would spawn a weak or strong storm in Jita which is not allowed. So am I right that the systems near Jita will never get the strong storms? I feel like rather than excluding the whole area, it would be better to just exclude Jita specifically so if a strong storm appears in New Caldari, every system next to it has storms except Jita.

It was quite recenty in Josameto, Poinen, Liekuri, Nomaa, Obanen and Olo. 2 jumps from Jita.
Whoops I should have posted in op “no Winter Nexus Storms 1 JUMP from Jita.” That was pretty poorly worded pretty much anything within 7 jumps is “near” Jita isn’t it? My point is that a strong storm 1 jump form Jita would force all systems 1 jump away to either be a strong or weak storm, but Jita can’t have them, so instead of just hardcoding Jita to be different, I think they just steered storms away from systems like New Caldari, Perimeter, and Maurasi which I think is a shame.

My complaint isn’t “2 jumps is too far to treavel” I think every system should get the chance for the event to come. But I understand maybe having people run it in Jita is not the best idea. However, I am complaining that this rule would effectively exclude the chance not just for Jita, but the surroundings too. Why should Perimeter get no chance of it happeneing if Botane, Hek, and Claysson can get to see the event?
I’ve seen winter storms three jumps from Jita. That’s near.
Where does it say Jita can’t get storms?

Trust me, you don’t want nada in or 1 jump within Jita, the riff raff is bad enough.
I understand why we don’t want it in Jita, but I think the adjacent solar systems should be treated like any HS system.
Why do you think it is not the case? I saw the winter storm in both Sobaseki and Movolailen. Why should Perimeter/Niya/NC/Maurasi be any diferent?
Wasn’t that a weak storm? If it was a strong storm, I’m just wrong, but I think it was a weak one.
My Gallente HQ (which is not Dodixie) hasn’t had a Wightstorm in 2 years. It’s random. I vaguely remember either Perimeter or Jita having it in one of the previous years, but I can’t swear by it. I see no reason Jita should be exempt. It’s already on a reinforced node and it wouldn’t increase the local that much. It wouldn’t be the primary reason people go there in that case. But it would be hilarious seeing 50 guys trying to mine the same ice cube that has 1 unit in it.
Ha ha ha, I want to see this. But given CCP refused to put asteroid anomalies in Jita before they removed them from HS (they were removed at one point, now they’re back) I don’t think we will see this.
