You see, it’s not irrelevant. If someone complains about “lost forever 15 minutes” because they failed to bring enough DPS or tackle, and now have to sit 15 minutes in a station doing nothing, while there are things to do during these 15 minutes that involves other things than chasing the next ship spin highscore, it is very relevant to debunk this argument as what it really is: whining and incompetence. It does not matter if the tags are available in Jita. What matters is that you can do lots of things during a 15 minutes criminal timer that even help EVE at large as you, for instance, make low sec more lively.
But as said: These things are not of concern for “elite PVPers”.
Technically nothing wrong with that. It’s part of the game after all.
What irks me, though, is that they present themselves as victims if something does not go according to their plan because they objectively failed to prepare properly and then claim that they lost 15 minutes of their life because they were confined to a station hangar. This is objectively not true and just shows what a whiny bunch some gankers really are (most probably don’t care because they just tend their VNIshtar alts in Delve or Feythabolis or wherever). Every gank target gets to hear “You screwed up. It’s your fault that you got ganked for doing XYZ. HAHA! HTFUGTFO!” But when gankers screw up (or just conduct their normal activity) they think they should be exempt from this kind of consequence. It’s laughable.
Good point. Blowing up a few Catalysts isn’t hurting the gankers much, they planned on losing them and have replacements ready. The only ship worth anything is the bumping Machariel and it’s not engaging in “suspect activity” (according to game mechanics) so you’ll get CONCORDED for blowing it up. Any Catalyst still around will then loot any shiny mods dropped, so not only did you lose a ship capable of taking out a mach (what’s the cheapest option there, BTW?) but you also gave away loot.
One funny thing I read in another criminal thread might be worth trying though. Someone used an alt in a rookie ship to attack his own freighter which was being bumped. CONCORD took out the rookie ship, ofc, and was now on grid. If it’s not abusing game mechanics for gankers to make trouble elsewhere to slow down CONCORD response it’s surely perfectly fine to call them to you…
I always have an Orca with me to store all the loot and scoop the ore that is lying around. Yet no miner ever used those cheap disposable ships and ganked my Orca. Why?
Yeah, sure, people will spend the 15 minutes jumping into a different ship and doing x jumps (not every highsec system is close to a lowsec system … you know that, right?) to go there and then x jumps to head back again.
That does not make me a liar, you just - as usual - have no real clue what you are talking about. You never were a ganker. No, participating in a few freighterganks does not make you a ganker. It makes you a button-pusher.
And ■■■■ me, I have NEVER farmed tags to ruin my sec status. -10 is not an issue for me whatsoever. You’re just hot air with nothing behind.
That’y their fault, not mine. The opportunities are there and you are not stuck in a station for 15 minutes after a failed gank.
That aside: Uedama is next to low sec. Niarja is 3 jumps from low sec. Isanamo is 4 jumps from low sec. Josameto and Poinen are 4 jumps from low sec. Esescama is next to low sec. Colelie and Aufay are 2/3 jumps from low sec. It’s not that hard.
It’s not about ruining your sec status up. It’s about doing something while you are “trapped in a station and lose 15 minutes that you never get back”. It’s about being active and in space, available for PVP, not about repairing your sec status.
If you voluntarily decide to not do anything while the 15 minutes run, that’s your choice, but you alone waste those 15 minutes. The game does not force you to. Henceforth, you are lying when you say you lose 15 forever.
We can speak about this …
… as soon as you actually know what you are talking about.
You know … experience.
Actual experience.
Not just hot air.
Until you have that, you have no ground to speak on. Your idea of “well they can go to lowsec” is ridiculous. It is as much of a waste of time as it is waiting in the station, and if you do not understand the reason why, then how about you actually figure it out. Trying to get anything into that thick skull of yours is, apparently, completely futile.
Not quite. I am open to suggestions. What I am not open to is the whining of someone conducting illegal activities and getting punished for it, while ingame means are open to you to do things while you are “trapped”. It’s funny, though, how thin skinned gankers respond when you demand action from them, yet they are allowed to demand action all the time from their targets. Funny indeed.
Why? So that more PVP can be moved out of null sec and low sec to high sec? That you can gank freighters with fewer alts because you can run repeated hits in a hyper-dunking lite fashion?
This isn’t really a risk. Ganking in highsec doesn’t impact the volume of pvp in either low, null or jspace, so making the GCC shorter (which isn’t something I support) wouldn’t bring pvp players out of low or null to gank in highsec.
A lot of people that love to pvp have no interest at all in ganking.
There is a tremendous opportunity cost to ganking. All the time spend in criminal timer is time not spend super ratting or rorqual mining. So obviously in order to be fair to gankers the drop rate needs to be improved to 100% and the criminal timer reduced to 2 minutes max.
