Null sec botters and local chat

Are you saying we should ask the biggest carebears in the game how to make their houses less secure in order to promote conflict…?

let’s instead ask bad players who can’t get kills in nullsec and blame local

^ when you’re trying to be sarcastic but accidentally make a valid point for your interlocutor

You mean “good fights” like recent eviction where 3 biggest groups of wormholers attacked small corporation who dared to have Keepstar in C2?
(Not saying that ‘gfs’ not happening at all)

Fair, but thats not a daily occurence either.

What I’m saying is the devs should talk to the people who live there about their experiences and knowledge of null then use their own knowledge and ideas for the direction of the game to make the best use of their and our time to achieve their desired results. I don’t think they should be turning to null for the direction of WH space any more than I think null should decide the direction of empire. The space and people living there all have different expectations and playstyles. It is up to CCP to talk to them and come up with the best course of action. That means not just asking the burglar what they think should be done to make breaking into the other person’s home easier, but what vulnerabilities the homeowner may be willing to accept in a game of give and take to increase interactions between players and all around enjoyment.

IDK what rock you’ve been living under if you think everyone in null wants it to be safe. We’re constantly out there begging and literally throwing ideas at CCP over what changes could be made to increase interaction and enjoyment without destroying what makes null enjoyable to live in.

Don’t play anymore (give me back my golem @CCP_Falcon) but why haven’t they repurposed ECM to make you invisible to local yet?

Well CCP did one small thing to make Null a bit more dangerous/increase active engagement and all null did was rage for two months. I think it’s pretty clear from the BO experiment that NullSec as an aggregate is not willing to accept any minuscule increase in risk.

I think CCP should start listening to the burglars, weigh the pros and cons of each suggestion, and implement as it makes sense. Let the people who can’t hack it leave. :man_shrugging:t2:

lol making subcap ratting unviable is not merely a miniscule increase in risk

ingame map updated like every 30min or a bit quicker if you are closing and reopening the map a lot to force updates. ESI I cannot help you, maybe CCP need to look at it.

Considering bots can inject new accounts for less isk than they make in a single day, I doubt CCP will ever be able to keep up.

The truth is, any company that sees a %40 decline in their player base (bots or not) is going to cave… CCP likely won’t bring blackout back. However, they also can’t expect to ban bots fast enough to stop them. A bot ratting gila can make 1.08 bil a day, meaning CCP could ban every bot once a day and the bots could still afford to inject a new account the next day.

Ultimately, the blackout has shown us that game mechanics are the only way to stop bots, CCP just needs to find a mechanic that stops botting without hurting other players.

It’s called lurking. Why?

Lurkers just listen, they don’t post.

I think this depends.

  • If it’s 40% reduction in paying players, then that is an issue.
  • If it’s 40% reduction in players who can’t bot/afk the game to pay for the PLEX to support all there alt accounts, then who cares. CCP doesn’t make any money off of them anyway. Same goes for alpha accounts that don’t do anything.

I’ve heard a persons state they had 250 accounts on a recent podcast. That person is not paying CCP $25K per year to support those accounts. I’d guess they’re a combination of alpha and PLEX supported accounts, so if they cancel all 250 accounts, CCP doesn’t loose a dime.

You may think its a good idea to cut off your entire head to cure a headache but just because you don’t see the botters any more doesn’t mean they stop botting.

False statement. If even one of those accounts is omega, they’re contributing to CCP’s income. Plex is driven by player demand, if demand in-game falls so too does the amount put onto the market by people who no longer feel it is worth their real money. Plexing an account generally earns CCP more income than a monthly sub does.

It’s a small impact to see one plexed account unsubscribe, but it’s not zero.

Good riddance.
