I don’t. I think oaths are ■■■■■■■■. People change. Circumstances change. The kind of inflexibility reflected by these oaths is just one reason why we keep getting into these pointless wars. And yet, even you yourself (as just one example) said that:

To me, you present as Gallente. Your manner and bearing bring to mind the internationalists who have pushed for us to emulate the Federation in the past, and the paternalistic lecturing of Federal diplomats who came through our stations in my youth. I doubt very much if this is your intention, but again, I cannot speak to those.

…and that’s not who I am at all. So, clearly, I’m doing something wrong.

Speak when you think it appropriate for you to do so. Just understand that others may disagree, and there may be consequences. As long as you accept that, you’re fine.

So, one of mine, and one of the Brutor Tribe, posts an Oath to his clan and his Republic, and suddenly the thread is full of foreigners questioning it, explaining it, arguing it, talking back at it, putting it down, demanding explanations?

This place is not a place to convince people to care.

I’m not here to convince anyone. That’s not my purview. The problem is that people keep asking me questions as if they do. If I don’t answer the questions, then they turn around and tell people that I’m irresponsible, which damages my opportunities for getting work contracts. If I do answer their questions, then I waste my own time because no response I could give actually holds any weight.

See, this is a piece of advice that gets tossed out here all the time, yet the majority of the people complaining don’t do in-person meetings or don’t go to events.
