As for finding people this stupid, I wonder if there is ANYONE ELSE who is stupid enough to think that Caldari Navy let Trigs have any system they wanted?
Anyone ever would fall for that stupidity?
Point me a finger on anyone who thinks like that?
On anyone who doesn’t know we have fortress systems where we repelled triglavian invasion?
How bout I flat out call you a Liar Ms.Kim… DO you offer any Proof the my sister’s L’Amore is an Angel Cartel Facility? I have Never seen proof of such. Yes it is a facility open to all as long as they behave, but that does not make it Cartel
How about I publically challenge you to a duel for a slander of a name of State officer in public media?
As for the proofs, that’s certainly not the way how one shall request them. First you will answer for your words, and, provided following that you will make a proper and polite request, I’ll consider whether you deserve for me to to disclose it for you or not.
Meanwhile I will consider a different thing: whether you shall be treated as a suspect in Cartel collaboration or not?
If you want to play the game of who slandered first, Look in the Mirror Miss Kim. I do believe the State is allied with the Kingdom? has enclaves set up, and you a supposed upstanding officer of the State, Dare to slander the Sister of a Holder? you publically did it as well. so Look first inward, then you can accuse me of slander. Also let us not forget, Besides being a Citizen of the Kingdom. she is also one of my Sub-holders holding one of my estates, and is also the Beau of another holder in the empire. It is I who should be demanding an apology for your words in insulting both nations.
I am not playing games, Ms. Deritan, please watch your tongue.
I am not slandering anyone and even such insunuation is disturbing.
But today the question is about you. You dared to say I am a Liar. And you must answer for your words. Did I say it not clear enough yet? Do you have a Honor to accept the challenge?
Don’t bother me with further useless blabber. Either accept the challenge as a Honorable Lady, or cease addressing me, because those who don’t have Honor, don’t deserve my time.
Provided you will act with Honor, we will discuss everything else after.
Why? You don’t.
Get out, petty lying troll.
You come in, peddling falsehoods, then start insulting anyone who points that out. That’s not honorable. You make accusations and refuse to provide evidence to back them up. That’s not honorable.
Look, we get it. We all know you’re so quick to anger and challenge people to violence because you don’t like the way you behave, and you’re lashing out in hopes of being punished. But nobody will ever punish you as much as you already punish yourself by perpetuating the self-hating, self-destructive behavior. Because it’s all intended to provoke people and make people think poorly of you… because you think poorly of yourself.
Really, Diana, you need to let go of all that toxicity and just learn to live inside your own skin.
Heard through some old contacts she bashes recruits heads in in Caldari Militia channels.
Like, ■■■■, ever heard of morale, D?
You are by Calling My sisters Bar a Cartel Facility, but Even though I will get my ass kicked most likely. I’ll take up your challenge, Name the time, please. I will name the weapons and Champion due to my current health condition
I have chosen. Jhon Razaron Destroyer of worlds will be my champion, Weapons of Choice. Destroyers. Contact Him directly to set up the system and time Ms.Kim
Ms. Deritan. You are blowing cold and hot, changing your replies like gloves. Have you heard about etiquette? However, I have to admit, that changing your agreement to chose yourself a weapon matches duelling etiquette way better.
On the other hand, for your own actions you shall answer yourself personally. Asking anyone else to do that for you is way less than Honorable.
I do accept the fight on Destroyers. However, the challenge was issued to you, not to Jhon Razaron, to whom I have no pretensions. I do understand, however, that you might have health conditions, and with that regard, I will give you a reasonable amount of time to get better and to meditate on your behavior.
After that, we will meet in Destroyers.
So in 6 months time? well known fact, Clone jumping kills a clone, and I am not killing what grows in me since you will not admit to laying Insult first. And under almost all Code Duello’s A champion in such a condition may be choosen.
Especially when receiving a challenge.
Just out of curiosity, could you present even a single Code Duello stating as such? As far as I can tell the only occasion where the use of a “champion” is allowed is during the aptly named Championships, not duels of honor. If you are referring to the appointment of seconds, their role is not to fight in one’s stead, only alongside the principal duelists and against their counterparts, and that’s in very extreme and unusual cases.
Not to cast any doubt on Lady Deritan’s presumably impeccable familiarity with etiquette, of course, I am merely curious.
In some duels, the seconds would take the place of the primary dueller if the primary was not able to finish the duel, or was otherwise unable to duel.
It is not always guaranteed but is also allowed when One is of higher social standing.
Under which Code Duello? I am still learning all the intricacies of dueling etiquette outside the State, but as far as I know and have witnessed even Amarrian nobility fight their duels themselves, sometimes even suspending their cloning contracts if the stakes are high enough.
From what I know, as the challenged party, you are afforded no special privileges as a result of your social standing that you would not have regardless.
If you mean to brand your second a “champion”, it should have been done at the time of acceptance of Commander Kim’s challenge, and his duties involve a lot more than fighting in your stead.
I’m sorry - are we pressuring a pregnant woman into a duel over posts made on a message board?
No? We are discussing dueling etiquette. Commander Kim seems willing to wait, from what is posted above.
These are the rules of duelling within the Stjörnauga Clan, when matters rise to the level where the matter cannot be resolved with words or bare knuckles (and feet, and headbutts, and… well, you get the idea). It’s not, strictly, referred to as a ‘Code Duello’, but as the Lög um blóð. I’ve seen similar among other groups.
Lög um blóð of Clan Stjörnauga
Rule 1. The first offence requires the first apology. This holds even when responses have been more offensive than the initial insult. Example: A tells B he is impertinent, etc.; B retorts that he lies—yet, A must make the first apology, because he gave the first offence. If the combatants face off with pistols, then (after one shot) B may explain away the retort by subsequent apology.
Rule 2. But if the parties would rather fight on, then after two shots each (but in no case before), B may explain first, and A apologize afterwards. Note: The above rules apply to offences in retort only.
Rule 3. If a doubt exist who gave the first offence, the decision rests with the seconds. If the seconds cannot or will not agree, the matter must proceed to two shots, or to a hit, if the challenger require it.
Rule 4. When the lie direct is the first offence, the aggressor must either beg pardon in express terms, ex change two shots previous to apology, or three shots, followed by explanation; or fire on until a severe hit be received by one party or the other.
Rule 5. As a blow is strictly prohibited under any circumstances between civilized people, no verbal apology can be received for such an insult. Rather, the offender may offer apology by providing a silver birch rod or switch to the injured party, to be used on their own back, while making proper obeisance. If blades are used, the parties engage until one is disarmed, disabled, or marked blood—or until, after being so marked, the aggressor apologizes and offers obeisance. In such a duel of blades, a disarm will be held equivalent to a disabling blow. In this event; the disarmer may break his adversary’s blade, though it should be considered ungracious. If the challenged is disarmed, and refuses to offer obeisance, they cannot be killed, but are understood to survive at the mercy of the challenger. Should this happen, the challenger may later seek further redress if the offense remains unresolved.
Rule 6. If A gives B the lie, and B retorts by a blow (being the two greatest offences), no reconciliation can take place, until two discharges each, or a severe hit. At such time, B may offer A obeisance, and beg forgiveness for the blow—then A may explain simply for the lie.
Rule 7. No apology can be received in any case after the parties have actually taken their ground, without exchange of fires.
Rule 8. No challenger is obliged to divulge his cause of challenge (if private), unless required by the challenged so to do before their meeting.
Rule 9. All imputations of cheating at play or sport are to be considered equal to a blow, but may be reconciled after one shot, by admitting the offense and making public obeisance.
Rule 10. Any challenge issued to an individual rendered incapable of defending their own honor by virtue of infirmity, imprisonment, obligate service, childbearing, or other intervening condition must allow either delay for the satisfactory resolution of the intervening condition, or the appointment of a willing proxy to stand in the place of the challenged.
Rule 11. Offences originating or accruing from the defense of the reputation of the helpless or infirm are to be considered as less unjustifiable than any others of the same class, and as admitting of slighter apologies by the aggressor, this to be determined by the circumstances of the case.
Rule 12. In spontaneous encounters where blades are drawn, the first to draw must be first to sheathe, unless blood has been drawn. If so, then both sheathe and resolve the dispute.
Rule 13. There is to be no firing in the air or into any bulkhead. STRAY SHOTS ON SPACE STATIONS ARE DANGEROUS. DON’T DO IT. If one or the other has no intention to inflict harm, then the matter should be resolved without the issuance or acceptance of challenge.
Rule 14. Seconds are to be chosen from within the Clan, and when possible, from within the combatant’s close family.
Rule 15. Challenges should never be issued after working shifts. Tired combatants make foolish decisions, and are more likely to hurt bystanders.
Rule 16. The challenged has the right to choose his own weapon, unless the challenger offers assurance that they are unskilled with any weapon. Given those assurances, though, he cannot deny the challenger’s choice.
Rule 17. The challenged chooses location; the challenger chooses distance; the seconds fix the time and terms of firing.
Rule 18. The seconds load in presence of each other, unless they provide assurances that the duelling weapons are loaded with only a single shot. Such assurances shall be taken as honorable and true.
Rule 19. Firing may be regulated by signal, spoken command, or at will, provided the parties agree.
Rule 20. In all cases, a miss-fire is equivalent to a shot, and jammed weapon is to be considered as a miss-fire.
Rule 21. Seconds must attempt reconciliation before the meeting takes place, or after sufficient firing or hits, as specified.
Rule 22. Any wound sufficient to render aim unsteady must end the encounter.
Rule 23. If the cause of meeting be of such a nature that no apology or explanation can or will be received, the challenged takes his ground, and calls on the challenger to proceed as he chooses. In such cases, firing at pleasure is the usual practice, but may be varied by agreement.
Rule 24. In slight cases the second hands his principal but one pistol; but in gross cases two, holding another case ready charged in reserve.
Rule 25. Where seconds disagree and resolve to exchange shots themselves, it must be at the same time, and at right angles with their principals. If with blades, side by side, with five paces interval.
Rule 26. No party can be allowed to take aim from crouch or two-handed brace. However, the weapon may be fired from any height along the body.
Rule 27. If firing distance is specified, neither party can close distance. If not, then either may advance before their opponent fires. Once a combatant fires, their opponent may not close distance any farther.
Take note, however, that Diana Kim always insists on dueling with swords, to the death, which is strictly prohibited by these rules. As such, we wouldn’t accord her any of the protections of these rules. Her own rules for dueling, based on my own direct experience, tend more toward ‘she yells, then pulls her blade and attacks, even if the other party has not set or indicated they are ready for the duel to commence’. Nor does she observe the formal practice of using seconds.
In a formal sense, she doesn’t duel, she just attacks.
