Pacifier +1 utility high slot +20cpu

Can the pacifier get a utility high so It can fit the probe launcher it is bonused for without losing the cloak it is bonused for or having to gimp its firepower to 2 turrets.

Thanks.
Might be a viable alternative to the astero that way , for peops who don’t want to drone.

Trade offs.
This is intentional.

It is intentional that the ship be completely dysfunctional in its bonuses and slot layout, and be a useless trophy ship suitable only for spinning in station? Why should the Astero be the only covert ops frigate that doesn’t have to make trade offs?

It does have to make trade offs in it’s high slot, given it has only 2 highs and 2 turret slots any other module is dropping it’s potential DPS. Now yes it isn’t built around turret DPS so that’s unbonused DPS it loses, but it still loses it, pretending it makes no trade offs is silly.
If every other Covert Ops loses primary DPS means however, maybe the answer is not ‘lets give a second ship no trade offs’ because that just then leads to a power creep as one by one all the covert ops get them added.

Pretending that a drone boat with no bonuses to any other weapons makes genuine tradeoffs by not fitting a single unbonused weapon is silly and dishonest.

Alterantively we recognize that, like the Astero, the Pacifier is meant to be a combat covert ops frigate and is a special faction ship that should be more powerful than the cheap cannon fodder alternatives. Making a faction ship more than an expensive trophy that never undocks does not mean that we’re obligated to do the same for the basic T2 ships. In fact, the T2 ships should probably lose their weapon bonuses to be pure probe/scout ships.

What I find confusing (about the whole ship line actually) are the security status bonuses.
To me these ships seem to be intended for mostly PvP, but they have a bonus that is based on your PvE effectiveness.

Security status is just flavour, as these are CONCORD ships. It may make active rep fits less effective for people who regularly do actions that reduce security status, but a lot of PvP doesn’t affect security status at all.
