The golden rule, he who has the gold makes the rules.

Maybe the plan was to sell the character for a huge profit?

Maybe the plan was to blow 2.6K in cash and win a lottery?

Maybe the plan was to bait and switch?

Who knows and who cares?

Maleficent Fools

Sorry I am really digging on this GIF option here. lol

Are we now discussing if its a waste to extract a toon? Yes. the math says is x8 the cost of waiting in normal cases with real played toons IF you actually need the SP for something. Its pretty much dumb AF to do so for imaginary profits and you will end up regretting it. The only time it makes sense to extract is when you have enough SP and your toon is good enough. And then if you want a free omega account, you sell the SP back to the market and use plex to buy game time. If you use 3 months payment in NES and buy order plex… its only about 150m a month to play eve as Omega.

For CCP, it just makes sense to have as many accounts as possible so they seem to be worth more money than they are really worth. Alphas and 150m per month Omegas who are done training… The only people actually paying for EvE are the ones who are convinced to keep paying for more SP for whatever reason (the new players ccp loves). New ships… new skills added to game. Another alt you get convinced to have.

I havt paid for anything in prob 15 years unless I felt like buying some SP in the store simply to show support for CCP, I could have bought it in game tbh.

Why not vote with your dollars and give some money to the company that makes the game we all like. You should create content OR give them money or both.

good for you.

Stop shitting around and jumping from stick to stick

Yep, that dumb bot changed the topic and modified messages…

There just is no lesson for anyone, except not to follow your example if they are new.

You made your 10 years in the game before that, you know the ins and outs of the game and therefore you know what you do and how to approach your goals today. No one will know that when they are new to the game.

Also the grind and the years through the game are needed. They teach you everything and only by going through this time, you will get emotionally attached to the game and learn about all the bad weather and how handle it, be it gankers, nerfs by FC, all the mechanics of old and new, highsec, lowsec, nullsec gameplay and everything else. This takes a lot of time,

So again: no, there is no lesson to be had. Works for you, won’t work for a new player.

I have already seen people follow this road. They are almost faster out of the game again than the time it took to swipe their credit card. They come with absolute no game knowledge and buy the most blingy ships.
Some even buy a character and then a titan, because they have have heard about the epic EVE battles and think those are the best ships for everything. Then when their titan becomes a sitting duck and won’t jump through the gate on their first ride and is blown up by the casual roaming gang passing through, the game gets uninstalled again.

Happened more than once.

You have to go through the 10 years to learn that in EVE there is no best ship, just a matching ship for a certain situation. And you have to bring the knowledge to assess this.

We all make mistakes, but he just can’t admit it. I once lost everything too, including my main character after extracting. I didn’t pretend it was a smart move. I lost a long war, gave it everything, and was left with nothing. But I came back, rebuilt my business, injected my main back to 80m, and never looked back. There is no reason to lie to yourself or spin a massive loss as a "good experience."Buying PLEX is fine, but let’s not pretend it isn’t taking the easy road. We all have jobs, kids, and extra money. Some of us just choose not to buy an advantage in this game.

I think people are giving this thread considerably more credit than it deserves.

The actual subject here isn’t really skill injectors, diminishing returns, or whether 50 million SP is some magical breakpoint. The subject is that the OP desperately wants everyone to care about what they are doing with their character.

^Nailed it.

You may be correct good sir. Very wise. Extreme mistakes require extreme coverups.

bumped this to Communications Center > My EVE

I have also reverted the thread back to Revision 3 as the majority of the topic is in discussion of it.

In the future @One_Ugly_Cat please post a second follow up post separately instead of changing the nature of the thread.

Thank you,

So now that the thread is back on track: wouldn’t it have been cheaper and less wasteful for OP to just buy some PLEX for CA$H and sell it for skill injectors instead of extracting their own SP and spending it on a new alt?

And independent of that: was the SP above 50 mil so worthless to OP that it was still a better choice to just extract it?

Maybe OP came for validation and praise yet the brick wall of reality put an end to it.

Injection may be worth less above 50 mil SP, but those skills I’ve obtained above 50 mil SP are certainly useful.

What do you do to progress into a bigger variety of ships once you’ve got three characters each with 50 million SP? Start an extra account?

Personally I just keep training new ships on my main so I can eventually fly them all well.
