I was wondering if anybody else is having the same problem as me when im trying to do my pi. i go to my PI window and click on one of my planets and it says its loading but then it freezes and crashes into windows desktop. please let me know if you guys have a solution to fix it and its really getting annoying and makes me not want to do it anymore.
Any more details you can provide? (When did this start, did you make any changes, etc.)
I don’t remember when it started. i never had this problem before. i was always able to go to my planets and not crash. the only changes i have done was putting new memory and changing hdds.
upon first blush-
whats this?
Like said i never had this problem before. the whole 8 yrs that PI has been out i never once had this crashing problem. it happens to all my 4 accounts and i have 72 planets. i just dont want this to keep happening .
I mean, did this just suddenly appear out of the blue? Did it happen to be on a Tuesday when EVE patches are pushed out, or on a day after you installed a driver or OS update?
Sorry- that’s a phrase that means “my first thought is…”
That definitely suggests that this is due to a change somewhere in either your computer or the EVE client. One thing you might want to try just to start looking for root causes is adjust your graphics settings a bit lower to see if that makes any difference. You can always reset them, but this would at least help to start pinpointing where the issue might be.

This depends on your system, but I would suggest setting all of the parameters to or disabled. Yes, this will make everything look absolutely terrible
Then, one by one, turn them back up one step, open the PI window and see if you get a crash. If not, set it to the next higher lever, and repeat.
Lastly, I don’t know what platform you are using, but if you can open Task Manager, Activity Manager, or some other system monitor for your computer to watch for memory, GPU, or CPU spikes when you open the window, that might help see what is going on as well.
i have a amd r7 260x 2gb video card…i need to upgrade it, but graphics wasnt the issue. i had it all maxed out and it never crashed before.
it has to be the eve client, cause i did a petition to ccp and told me to attach a .lsw file and i did this is what they said, “Unfortunately the log has not provided any insight into why your client is crashing while doing Planetary Production. Thank you for informing us about this issue. It would be a great help if you could file a bug report on this matter in case our developers need more information about it. Most of the developers have no access to the ticket system and use a separate system to track and address bug reports. Also bug reports submitted in-game provide much more detailed logs about the issue and are more insightful to the developers.”
Yes, that sounds like the graphics card should be fine. And good that you submitted the petition. Definitely follow-up with the bug report as well so the devs can work with you.
My suggestions are as much about seeing if you can find a work-around to the issue as anything. If there is a change that you can make to keep playing while the devs work to identify and solve the problem, that will at least keep you going.
