How does AFK mining make a player poorer? Doesn’t it “depend”? And exactly what does this have to do with PI?
Possible the citadel core thingy. Seems like citadels have taken a big hit and as a result so has the PI market. Interestingly the smallest category structures has shown some increase over the last several months indicating people are downsizing.
Is that it? IDK…but maybe. Seems like a number of markets started losing ground prior to this though…

Going with this one as they all seem to have the same basic pattern…
So we see that since the peak in mid 2016 prices have never gone back to that level. Although it came close in 2017. I wouldn’t say it was a clear downward trend since 2017. Sure looked like things were bottoming out in 2019 and leveling off.
However in about mid 2020 man the market has tanked. Big time.
I would say, “Not yet.”
Thank you, I have a Jita alt, but not an Amarr alt, so this info is nice. Looks like it is a global thing, not just a Jita thing (which is what I suspected, if prices were tanking in Jita and Amarr clever players would find a way to arbitrage that difference away and make a killing).

2016 is release of citadels. 2017 was refineries (as already mentioned). Two biggest spikes where due to structures. Drop in the end are hyper cores. Again structures.
I started playing EVE few days or even same day as “Citadel” patch dropped. I don’t know how EVE was in age of POS and how PI was looking like back there. But it looks like we are close to prices from that times.
With how PI is designed, making structures only main demand source. It’s quite clear that once market stabilized after initial launch of citadels prices only go down (demand going down, while supply was not disturbed in any way). Unless there will be massive increase of demand of PI in standard industry (I don’t believe that CCP will change blueprints for most things in EVE) or we get new structures (there is still lack of"small" structures. But with cores and other changes in last year. CCP clearly said they don’t want solo players and small corps to own structures).
Both of those things aren’t expect to happen soon or will never happen. PI will bottom when supply will be close to demand. This will only happen by players stop doing PI and not oversupplying market. I hope that with new dynamic economy CCP is working on, PI will find it’s place as something more than structures and #CCPlease make gas great again
