PI QoL improvement possibilities [UPDATED]

[Updated with extra item]

I do a fairly large amount of PI spread over several toons and accounts. I build P4s on factory worlds, both directly from imported P1 and from imported P3 manufactured elsewhere. I have a few gripes which might be points for quality of life improvements.

Sorting the Planetary Industry window

The current planetary industry window lists planets in a fixed order, the logic behind which escapes me. I would like to be able to re-order the planets as needed, to for instance put factory worlds at the top or bottom of the list or to order the planets in the sequence that I (want to) visit them for P1 pickups.

Reduce the Expedited Transfer clickfest

I find myself using expedited transfer a lot when stocking and emptying my factory worlds. For CPU/power reasons I store materials in storage facilities as well as in launch pads. Currently, to transfer between launch pads and storage facilities you have to (on the planetary installations screen) click on the facility to transfer from, click on the storage icon in the facility details window and then click on the ‘Expedited Transfer’ button before being able to choose the destination. I would really like to see a ‘Expedited Transfer’ item added to facilities’ right-click menu on the PI screen which would then let me immediately choose the destination.

Grey Planets Option

The various planets have decent or good artwork but that artwork quite often makes it hard or impossible to see the various installations, routes and especially extractor pins. This is especially the case on parts of the plasma and lava planets, but is not limited to these. Please make it possible to turn off the planetary artwork in the PI screen so players can see more clearly what they are doing.

Launch Pad Storage Capacity

Please increase the storage capacity of launch pads to that of storage facilities. Currently the lower capacity of launch pads reduces the usefulness of storage facilities because of the Expedited Transfer cooldown. More storage capacity would really help here. Alternately, remove the Expedited Transfer cooldown.

Extractor Duration timer improvement

The duration timer for extractor controllers is in my opinion garbage. You have a fairly crude slider flanked by up and down buttons. Setting the time, especially when moving (lots of) extractor controllers, is a drag (literally). I would love to see a number entry box added, so that we can directly input the desired duration, such as 46, instead of dragging the slider to 47 or 44 and fiddling with the buttons.

Sorting the Planet Listing –> I really like this! :+1:

Expedited Transfer –> How about a button on the pop-up ?

Grey Planet –> I always thought a red location marker, which I could then click down to see more.

LP storage –> Nope

But, I still give this a :+1: CCP let’s get ‘er dun!

Couldn’t agree more! Let’s make it happen CCP

FYI: Expedited transfer cooldown depends on how much you are moving through which links.

From Setting up a planetary colony - EVE University Wiki :

”A basic link can move 1,250 cubic metres per hour. Each upgrade doubles this to a maximum of 40,000 at level 5. If you move an entire launchpad full of stuff across basic links, it will take eight hours, compared to 15 minutes for a fully upgraded link.”

I added another QoL improvement for your consideration.
