even a frostpacker… i’ve actually considered creating ganking alt a long time ago, just never pulled a trigger on it.

Ganking alts are not necessary needed. Frosty scanned hauler’s cargo contains cats and blasters so thus would not be a problem as the pilot would not feel badly about losing to a highsec gank.
Back down to 4.8 security though when means a weekend of ratting to regain the loss.
It’s easier if you know your target your about to gank is happy to gank others.
What if you accidentally gank a non-ganker, because you are unable to discern whether they are a ganker or not? Like Frostbear did, or you did as well - do you just roleplay virtue signal while doing the same thing I do (just not as well)?
