Title. Several times now I found myself suffering for lack of the above functionality.
Here’s how I’d like it to work: I can right click an item or several selected items to toggle its “lock” status on and off. Locked items have a little, unobtrusive padlock icon on them.
If I select a group of items, some of which are locked and some aren’t, then try to move them into another inventory (including jetissoning them), only the unlocked items move. If I try the same with an item or group that is all locked, I get a confirmation window (don’t move / move / move and unlock). Additionally, locked status should persist on the items, including a locked deployable being launched (which shouldn’t require a confirmation), then later scooped.
What would be the purpose of this change? It’s so I can lock my ammunition / MTU / spare modules, and not have to worry about unselecting them every single time I want to empty my inventory at a station.
Yes, I know I can use containers, and I do, but those have several drawbacks.
Signed, a guy who had to jump back to station for his goddamn MTU one too many times.
After some experimenting with it, it does not seem to offer me the functionality I want. Even if I manually set it to hide everything I want to keep - which is far more effort than the two clicks I ask for - I have to enable or disable the filter every time I want to use it.
yeah, setup the filter takes a min or smth …. but what do you want more ? oO
so… you have to enable a filter with 1 click and disable the filter with a second click is to much for you ? sorry but then you want something that works for you and nothing else ….
its not possible to have it easier then 2 clicks -.- and its still to much work ….
yes, I want a system that does not require me going into the filter settings and creating a new exception for the specific name of the specific item every time a mission requires me to carry one.
so… you have to enable a filter with 1 click and disable the filter with a second click is to much for you ?
I don’t think asking for the clicks required to do a common task being reduced to a third is an unreasonable thing to ask.
you dont have to ! its quality of life if you use it but if you dont then youre life is harder why did you think you have filters ?
this game is easy enough and nobody need more automation ! if you want to sort your inventory you either have to use filters, containers or search your inventory !
