Poiuyt20 CSM21: Another Step Forward

O7 gamers, I am Poiuyt20 and I am running for CSM21.

My Eve Online story

I started playing EVE in 2014, did the basic new bro stuff including highsec mining and L4 missions, and then started to seriously commit in 2015 where I joined up with some friends to move into a C3/H with the support of Jenk Corp, who I would later join as my first high class wormhole corp. Jenk Corp would later merge with Red Fire to form MCAV. I spent a few years there primarily doing lots of small/nano gang pvp before having to take a break for IRL.

I returned in 2023 to join No Vacancies and have been apart of them since. In NV I am apart of several leadership teams and have built a vast base of knowledge of game/wormhole mechanics. I also placed top 16 in ATXX and flew the flagship for the No Vacancies team. I hope to use my experience and technical knowledge of the game to help steer FC to continue to expand and improve wormhole based content.

My areas of expertise

I would consider myself an expert in all things High Class Wormhole related. Having lived in High class since 2015 I have experienced every aspect of what that entails, including both planning and executing a major eviction and being the victim of an eviction. I am also a lead theory crafter and doctrine creator for NV. Beyond that I have a very strong base for Low Class Wormholes. I also have a moderately high degree of mechanic knowledge and skill for PVP, especially wormhole focused PVP.

What sets me apart from other candidates though is that I am expanding my knowledge for what the rest of the game in concerned with. I plan to engage with the community and explore what they care about most and understand their problems and concerns, and then continue to engage with the community after the election. I think CSM Mick Fightmaster has paved the way with the WH UN discord and I would continue to carry his work there forward.

Why am I applying to CSM21

I am applying for CSM21 because I care about our Wormhole Community as a whole. We are being left with more momentum than I have have seen in awhile, and we need someone to push that forward. I think I am in a good spot to be the representative that continues forward with that momentum. I’ve been in corp with Mick Fightmaster the entirety of his CSM terms and have seen the dedication he put into the his work, and want to put that same level of commitment and effort to improve the space we all share.

What can you expect from me

My #1 goal is to advocate to get more ships in space. If there is an idea that is healthy for the entirety of EVE that will get more people to undock I will be supporting it. My second biggest goal is to advocate to get new players into wormhole space and increase the size of our community.

Beyond that I aim to represent all areas of space. I want to increase my understanding of the concerns in High/Low/Null/Poch as well as their subset groups and work with the other CSM to improve their gameplay loop as well.

I want to continue to improve my understanding of what matters to different groups the most. I am in the Wormhole UN Discord, PB, EVE Discord, and will attempt to respond to any questions fielded to me. I have good relations with most high class groups already, but if you are a low-class group or interested K space group and would like to talk to me more personally please reach out on Discord or in game and I will get back to you as soon as practical.

I believe that Poiuyt is the most qualified to represent wormhole space of all the wormhole space candidates.

Having spoken to Poiuyt at length recently and being completely new to WH space - in the course of an hour and a half conversation covering a fight, Poiuyt brought me up to speed with how Wormhole Culture permeates every facet of their game.

They were dilligent and forthcoming with answers to the questions I had and incredibly respectful of my inexperience - in a way that I sometimes feel Wormholers can externally feel like a bit of a closed circle.

I don’t really know Wormhole space, but from that conversation I truly believe that they’re a good actor, a good candidate and a good advocate for Wormholers as well as being a CSM that is interested in learning and understanding others in the game. I’m hopeful they’ll do well.

Hello @Poiuyt20_Fliba, what about this?

  • The connection between EVE Online and EVE Vanguard

Do you have any expectations what that could be, how it could work? I am aware there is nothing tangible yet, but it’s rather inevitable if I red FC correctly.

Morning Poiuyt,

Couple of question if thats ok.

1. What do you see as the biggest blockers to groups starting life and being attracted to WH space, or those wanting to move up into higher class.

  1. Do you think that the number of bear holes owned by larger groups puts a cap on groups wanting to move into higher class holes, and if so how could those groups be encouraged to live in that space outside of the occasional log in to farm isk.
  2. What are the two things you would change about WH space/isk making/industry/pvp if you had a magic wand.

Best of luck for the campaign, I absolutely hope we get more WH reps on there

o7, fielding questions is what I am here for!

  1. I think the biggest blocker to people being attracted to wormhole space/fear of moving to high class is their fear/fear mongering that goes on about high class. If you open reddit and see any mention of high class first thing you’ll see is that WHCFC will evict you for being in high class. This of course is generally not true. So long as you are a content providing group, most groups will go out of their way to defend you, and almost no one will seriously attempt to remove you from the space.

  2. I think the number of bear holes is relevant to the conversation, but despite what most people think, there are available holes in high class. My group, NV, just assisted a newer group move to a 5-5. In addition to that, while I wouldn’t recommend attacking a major groups farm, there are plenty of random holes out there that can easily be taken by any group. Beyond that purchasing holes is a very normal thing for J space and a very reasonable way to get into high class.

3.1 First thing I would change is adding the “Perfect” medium content driver. By this I mean a way to encourage defenders to undock and fight off attackers without giving the attackers a reason to fully commit to evict someone.
3.2 Second thing would be to increase the attraction of low class. Couple of ideas could be better isk/wormhole industry efficiency. Low class is one of the biggest source of high class members so getting more low class members should improve the population of WH space as a whole.
