Possible New Megalodon

Possible new Meg sighted. This time that prehistoric Meg made her biggest mistake.

A humpback whale in Washington state is missing its tail. One expert calls the sight ‘heartbreaking’

Experts say that the whale became entangled in some kind of line or fishing gear. That isn’t possible because whatever the whale had been entangled with would have been wrecked due to the whale thrashing about trying to free itself. The whale needs captured and studied. It’s the humane thing to do.

Whatever took the tail of the whale must be huge, megalodon huge or maybe even leviathan huge.

The shelf that the West Coast sits on, makes a very nice overhang that could keep giant sharks and squids protected while they hunt migrating whales and each other.

Who says it wasn’t wrecked and sank? On average, over 100 fishing vessels disappear at sea every year? Maybe it caught the bouy for a crab pot wrong?

Megalodon is the least likely possibility. Poachers and illegal whaling are entire universes closer to being the likely culprits.

Had you not thought of the possibility that the whale had once been attacked while still as a calf?

No, because a whale calf with and injured tale would not have survived.

The wrecked ship idea would have been reported as being caused by a whale.

Ships disappear at sea without a trace all the time. No one knows why a ship sinks unless it’s stupidly obvious like sailing through a hurricane ,someone survives to tell the tale or they send a ROV down to explore it.

Also, an illegal fishing vessel isn’t ever going to be reported.

Absolutely anyone who has lived for any length of time near a fishing community could tell you this.

Illegal whaling could have been the reason for the missing fluke.

But I seriously doubt that the fluke bone and muscles of the whale would have pulled free from the whale while being suspended from the hoist for one simple reason, the whale would have been killed first before attempting to be hoisted into the ship.

Since the whale is alive, being hoisted by an illegal whaling ship that resulted in the fluke coming free from the rest of the body is, not possible.

Illegal whaling is still more likely than Megalodon.

Aliens are also a more likely cause than Megalodon.

Literally explosive diarrhea is a more likely cause.

No, the fluke of the whale would have tell-tale signs of a cable or rope being used. If the tail fluke was struck by a large ship propeller, the cut marks would also tell the tale.

Couldnt have been rope or cable because the whale would have dragged whatever it tethered was to.

Unless the whale became entangled in the tethering cables of an illegal deep ocean surface facility that no one knows about.

When captured and studied the fluke bone will reveal what truly happened.

The whale could have come close to an abandoned WWII coastal mine.

Or maybe illegal whale hunters used an explosive tipped type of munition to take the fluke off and hoped the whale would die.

Flawless logic. :face_with_monocle:

Couldn’t be netting.

Perhaps it was ganked by a large school of Tuna instead.

That is possible. Aquatic Bluefin tuna grow up to 1,500 pounds and are carnivores.
