Potency boosters are broken

Interesting about the slots, I didn’t check (but assumed they are alternatives not cumulative), just bought them for speculation purposes. May test on SiSi this evening.

Regarding the epic arc tactic you describe, this is exactly the usage I have in mind too.

Regarding negative hits, the boosters don’t amplify a negative hit (by declining too much mission offers for example), but apparently ease the hit far enough, it turns into a (very small) positive gain. This is not related to derived standing for other factions.

I haven’t used any of the boosters so far, just holding for later.

Well, since they’re boosters that go in different slots, the effects should be cumulative, with the current level of Social skill trained being the starting base.

Also both boosters only last for 24 hrs, which is the reason for the Epic Arc plan.

Anyway, I have access to all of the Epic Arcs and currently have the last mission of the Amarr Epic Arc offered right now, figure I’ll run it but not turn it in and do the same to all the others, then consume both boosters and run around completing all the arcs within that 24 hr period.

Sooo, it’s going to take a while to get all of the arcs set up. Hopefully it works out and gives 125% increase to the current 12.5% standing gain.

Correct me if I’m wrong but that should be a 28.1% standing gain. Even if both boosters aren’t cumulative and the 75% one trumps the 50% one, the standing gain will still be better than normal.

The increase should be in that area. With Biology 4 you will get almost 48h of booster time.

Oh that’s right, I forgot about the Biology skill increasing booster duration.

That’s cool, gives more time for traveling to complete them all.

Yeah, that’s dirt cheap, spread the word, everybody should use them for every mission. :wink:

Quick smoke test on SiSi, you can consume BOTH boosters, yeah. The decline with positive standing change is just a notification UI glitch, you get a -0.001 penalty for agent/corp/faction.

I have no time to test with an actual mission …

Skyrocking prices was the plan. :wink: But too late now, the whiners got their requested nerf. Sold my stock with small profit when hoboleaks showed the change.

I have just completed all of the Epic Arcs and currently have 5 of them sitting in my journal ready to be turned in to agent. I plan on using both Social Boosters and then complete those missions.

I would have had all 7 Epic Arcs in my journal but I completed the lv 1 arc due to a support ticket about the numeric value being incorrectly displayed in the Standing Change column of the Character’s ‘Interactions’ page.

The other arc was the level 3 Guristas Epic Arc which I just completed last night. I actually forgot to save it in my journal like I did with all the other arcs. It was late and I was tired. Right after I completed the mission with the Agent, I remembered I was suppose to use the Social Boosters first. Man was I bummed out.

Lucky for me Guristas Faction standing wasn’t that bad to begin with, it was -3.70 standing and due to having Social lv 5, I got +37.50% increase which raised Guristas Faction to +0.005 standing.

I will say in the process of running both of the lv 3 Pirate Epic Arcs, I did receive quite a few negative standing hits for ship kill to Minmatar (Angel) and Caldari (Guristas). More so with Caldari due to making more kills than what’s required to complete the arc.

Anyway, at least I now have positive standings with Guristas Faction. My Angel Faction standing is a lot worse than what the Guristas standing was, currently I have -6.00 standing with Angel, hopefully the extra boost from the 2 Social Boosters will make Angel Faction positive as well.

So now all I have to do is travel around and complete those missions.

Well, I went around and completed all of the Epic Arc’s active in my Journal with the 2x Social Boosters active.

First I want to say that running the Lv 3 Pirate Epic Arcs will incur quite a few negative standing hits for ship kill.

Running the lv 3 Angel arc dropped my Minmatar Faction from +7.83 to +6.90 standing.

Running the lv 3 Guristas arc dropped my Caldari Faction from +7.45 to +5.90 standing.
(I did more ship kills than what was actually needed to complete the arc)

I have all Social skills trained to level 5. These are my standings after running the arcs and then after completing the arcs with the 2x Social boosters active:

Angel Cartel = from -6.00 to +3.62
Amarr Empire = from +7.45 to +7.96
Gallente Federation = from +7.55 to +8.04
Minmatar Republic = from +6.90 to +7.52
Caldari State = from +5.90 to +6.72

If I hadn’t done the lv 3 Pirate arcs, my Minmatar standing would have been above +8.00 standing like Gallente and my Caldari would have been the same as Amarr, just below +8.00 standing.

So running all the arcs and then completing them with the 2x Social Boosters active definitely gives a nice large increase to Faction standings.

Just wish CCP had given the Social Boosters a longer expiration timer.

Anyway, I now have positive standings with 16 Factions and negative standings with 4 Factions - The Syndicate, Sansha, Blood Raiders and Serpentis.

The Syndicate and Sansha can be easily raised with the lv 4 arcs. Blood Raiders and Serpentis will be tough to make positive, hopefully having Concord Assembly at +2.55 Faction standing will be enough of a buffer to get Serpentis and Blood Raider’s positive.
