Problem logging on to forum

Whenever I try to log-in the forums, using URL “https://forums.eveonline.com/”, I first get a response :-

                            Cannot load app
It looks like you are offline! Please check your network connection and try again.

I immediately resubmit the same URL by simply pressing ‘Enter’, and log-on successfully.
This is on a PC running Linux Mint 17.3 and Firefox 56.0.
