Profiles not Saving

Hi,

Just come back to the game after yet another hiatus. I am trying to set up profiles for my accounts. I want to have two profiles for my main account one that will run fullscreen to play on my own and one that will run in a smaller window for when I multibox.

I typed in a new profile name and clicked the button to create the profile, I then logged into the game and set it up how I wanted it. Once I quit the game and went back to the launcher the profile disappeared and it forgot all the settings I did as it reverted to the default profile.

Any ideas?

Are you saying you made an extra profile on the right side in the launcher and that disappeared?

Example - I too have one default profile and one I use for multiboxing:

Did your launcher make an extra folder for the new profile?

I just gave it a try, and it looks like a new profile folder is only made the moment you enter the game with that new selected profile, not when you click ‘add profile’ in the launcher.

If you don’t immediately use the new profile name you added, the profile is not yet made and the launcher will forget it exists once you select another profile.

I suspect you made a new profile name, then logged in with the default profile, made your changes and then wanted to update the new profile, only to find out the new profile name was gone from the list and only the default profile remained?

So here’s what you can try:

  1. make a new profile
  2. log in using that new profile, at least to the character selection screen
  3. do your settings changes (or do it later)
  4. log back out and see if the launcher remembered the profile this time

Thanks for the detailed reply.
I checked my folder and the profile folder is there and populated with files.
Oddly, the profile seems to be there today as well. Maybe it was a glitch as I had an issue with steam still thinking Eve was open last night even though I quit out and closed the launcher. Maybe it was just having a moment but the profile is there today so I am going to go back in and make sure it is all set up.
