I myself went from being anti ganking to realising ( when I had more game experience ) just how boring highsec would be without ganking. The very first videos I watched on ganking were some of your own, and I found them fascinating.
Undocking from Jita with expensive cargo, or even just with a new ship of value, is always a nerve wracking experience. And it should be ! If the anti gankers ever got their way I’d be able to undock from Jita in a totally un-tanked ship and fly all the way to Amarr with zero risk or danger…and what would be the fun in that !
That defines how long the protection of rookie systems lasts. So a year old player can’t hide in a rookie system and call safe.
Also a reminder that you said you never attack the person instead of the argument because you called it “an in-effective debate technique”.
At this point you are just willfully ignoring the facts. I’ll accept that you might not have been admitting to griefing new players by CCPs defenition when you said…
… because you had an erroneous defenition of new players. However you still griefed them by your own defenition. Still not a misrepresentation as we were labouring under the impression that seeing as you were fighting so hard to protect these new players you atleast new what a new player was!
I would amend that to also state that people should not suggest changes without also considering the consequences of those changes. It is impossible to ‘fix’ one aspect of the game without screwing up other dynamics, and the problem is that all too often changes are suggested where people haven’t really thought out the full implications. When people suggest ( for example ) that only green status be allowed in highsec, they fail to grasp the full knock on effects of that to a whole range of other playstyles.
Define consider. Someone could consider something for five seconds or five days. Ultimately by suggesting it you are opening up to the critique of others and any daftness will come out in the wash.
If that is what a new player is then you’ve griefed by CCPs and your own defenition. However I suggest you go and actually read the support page.
I’ve backed up everything I’ve said with quotes and directed you to the CCP resources where you can find the defenition apparently everyone but you had for new player. It’s not on us to know if you have and use some super secret Lukas only defenition of new player and that you reject the CCP given defenition of new player.
I said I accept given your recent acknowledgement that you don’t know what a new player is according to CCP terms you might not have been admitting what you thought you admitted, however…
the attestation here was that the loudest voice in nerf ganking griefed new players which I’ve shown you admitting to. Hell I didn’t use your name, you are the one that held up that hand and claimed to be that voice and that it wasn’t true causing me to have to fetch your quote.
If all you are going to do is respond with “but no I didn’t” in the face of this evidence then I have nothing else to say because you are either being obtuse or delusional at this point. So enjoy your last words on the subject, everyone else can read the quotes.
How so? Why do you think we have the phrase ‘ill considered’.
Better to get the ideas out on the table and if you’ve not got a mind for thinking things through someone else probably will.
I want hear your wildest dreams about interesting changes to ganking. Not for the purpose of fine tuning what we have but ideas for content of the future, Eve Forever!
As a ganker, can i get your feedback in a few ideas for expanding ganking i had,
Don’t post in the forums, they said. It won’t turn out well. You won’t get the discussion you want. People will just argue the same arguments in circles, they warned me. They’ll hijack your thread for their own agenda.
But I didn’t listen.
So now I sit, chastened. Shocked. Bulldozed. Broken. I’m in the dark, fearing what light will reveal.
I have regrets. I have learned lessons. Lessons about listening to those who had my best interests at heart. I’m sorry I didn’t heed your words. But I will. I promise I will. I will leave the forums and not return. I know this now.
And as I leave, I shall utter but a few quiet, informed, reflective words. Words from the heart.
That has to be one of the silliest statements I have ever seen in Eve forums, and one you keep on making like a record that has gotten stuck.
Evasion has always been counterplay, in practically any combat game you care to mention. Even in something as basic as ‘capture the flag’ in TFC…evasion ( and not pew pew ) is half the battle. I can think of very few games where one just goes in with all guns blazing and never ever uses evading the enemy as a strategy at any point.
You keep on trying to impose some twisted Lucas dictionary of definitions on us. Stop it !
Today I’d like to discuss what are some ways you use to avoid le gank, and why, as we were all educated, ganking isn’t a problem for veterans.
