Prote Mission Fit

Im needing a post update fit for my Prote. Pretty much perfect skills. It will be targeting frigs to cruisers while orbiting a bs that is taking down other bs’.

Doing a large/med ship combo to blitz kills while a third grabs loot and salvage as time allows before time for the next mission.

hum… is that a multi-player fun fleet or a single player multi-box fleet?

For the former, something with drones, painter and dual railguns might work best. It’s a pretty straightforward fit to make…
For the latter, fly a gila with auto-targetting missiles and aggressive drones. It’s a lot less labour intensive.

I dont have the gila skills or I would try one out. Itll be multi boxing single player. Using the prote because its collecting dust, outdated fit is on it, and I can put a tank on it that I dont have to worry about watching that aspect of the battle.

Also, Ive never learned how to fit T3c. I just used the fit FC posted to match the fleet.

I haven’t tried it, but this is what I would be going for:

Proteus Drone Escort

Medium Armor Repairer II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Armor Thermal Hardener II
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

Thukker Large Cap Battery
10MN Afterburner II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Tracking Speed Script
Drone Navigation Computer I

Dual 150mm Railgun II, Thorium Charge M
Dual 150mm Railgun II, Thorium Charge M
Dual 150mm Railgun II, Thorium Charge M
Dual 150mm Railgun II, Thorium Charge M
Dual 150mm Railgun II, Thorium Charge M
Automated Targeting Unit I

Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Medium Nanobot Accelerator I

Proteus Core - Electronic Efficiency Gate
Proteus Defensive - Nanobot Injector
Proteus Offensive - Drone Synthesis Projector
Proteus Propulsion - Hyperspatial Optimization

Ogre II x4

Emphasis on drones since they can be set on aggressive and require less multitasking. Auto-targetting system for the same reason (and because locking 9 targets at a time means less wasted time targetting). Dual railguns for better tracking and short-ish range engagement against cruisers. Cap stable afterburner and ~750dps tank against serpentis, so you can turn on everything, launch drones and essentially forget about it.

While using this, I would queue up light missiles to 5, light missile spec to 4 and caldari cruisers to 4. Shield skills to 4 as well if you don’t have it. In a few weeks, you can fly a gila with which you can: warp in, orbit BS, launch drones, activate everything, forget about it until you need to warp again.

Thinking about it, if you can fly a proteus, you are minutes away from flying an ishtar at worst. You can get better heavy drone dps, speed and tracking from it. No guns, but the 5th drone more than compensates for that and will act on its own. Something like this:

Ishtar escort

[Ishtar, Ishtar PvE]

Medium Armor Repairer II
Armor Kinetic Hardener II
Armor Thermal Hardener II
Reactive Armor Hardener
Drone Damage Amplifier II
Drone Damage Amplifier II

50MN Quad LiF Restrained Microwarpdrive
Republic Fleet Large Cap Battery
Omnidirectional Tracking Link II, Tracking Speed Script
Drone Navigation Computer II

Drone Link Augmentor I
Automated Targeting Unit I
[Empty High slot]
[Empty High slot]

Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
Medium Anti-Explosive Pump II

Ogre II x5
‘Augmented’ Hobgoblin x5
Warden II x5
Hammerhead II x5

HAC skill doesn’t really matter for this, so lvl 1 is sufficient. Assist heavy drones to the BS, ungroup one gun to use it to direct drones and once you are in a pocket, you essentially don’t have to use the ishtar client at all. With the tracking link, nav computer and cruiser V buffs, heavies should deal pretty well with most things. For elite frigates or enemy drones, you still have the hobgobs.
