It adds realism. You have to think about how you approach something you want to get accomplished. In any case not repetitive and mindless without thinking and preparing for it.
Like watching the weather forecast in RL and preparing for rain or snow…similarly you can check zkill and the map on what is going on and where and prepare for it or avoid it.
I really wish people could understand this. There is no game without pvp. Without ships getting blown up they would be essentially worthless. Mining would be worthless because building anything would be worthless. Even rating would be worthless because what the hell could you even want to buy that isn’t a couple isk because the market is massively flooded with everything because nothing ever dies… This is NOT a pve game it never will be. If it’s not for you fine go do something else but stop with these mind numbing stupid suggestions.
I agree with that.
A dedicated EVE PvE server would be a massive quality-of-life improvement for players who enjoy the universe, lore, and economic depth of New Eden but don’t want every activity filtered through constant PvP risk. On a PvE server, casual players could log in after work, run missions, explore anomalies, mine, or build industry chains without the ever-present pressure of being hunted by veterans who have far more time, alts, and institutional knowledge. Instead of fitting ships primarily to survive other players, PvE pilots could focus on efficiency, experimentation, and progression. This would open the game to people who love long-term goals and systems mastery but simply don’t have the appetite—or schedule—for nonstop vigilance and loss.
By contrast, the current PvP-everywhere model is extremely constraining for casual players, because it demands constant attention, meta awareness, and risk tolerance even during supposedly “relaxed” activities. The result is that many PvE-inclined players either burn out, self-censor their gameplay to ultra-safe routines, or quit altogether. A PvE server wouldn’t diminish PvP EVE at all—it would coexist, much like different rulesets in other MMOs, letting players choose how they engage with the sandbox. Hardcore PvP players would still have their brutal, emergent battlefield, while PvE players could fully enjoy EVE’s rich environments, AI content, and economic gameplay without feeling like the game is actively punishing them for playing casually
If it ever happened I’d like them to limit the amount of alts and accounts someone could have, otherwise it would be too easy for someone with a big wallet to dominate industry etc then dictate too many things.
I agree. Normally it’s one account and one character. I don’t know what the old CCP guys were thinking but several accounts each with 3 characters is way beyond overkill and creates too many problems for the community.
It is probably never going to happen but one never knows. Corporations do funny things when they feel Damocles’ sword on their neck.
This statement shows that you neither have the complete overview about PVE nor industry nor research or anything else that makes you successful in EVE. If you only have one account and don’t even use all of your chars on it, you have a very limited view of what you could achieve by doing so. You could already solve half of the problems you are seemingly having and discussing here.
How about learning the game for a year or five? And join a corp that teaches you? And if you joined a corp already, find a better one that DOES teach you.
I’m against it because it would split the small player base and pull resources away from the real server. This is obvious.
I’m not going to waste anymore of my time on this. You will never get a pve server and I’m glad. I just wish you were intelligent enough to comprehend why what you’re asking for is so stupid.
We already know what happens when you put a PvE mode in an EVE-like game from Elite Dangerous. Elite has an option to play single player but connected to the server, which means you get the same economy, trade, etc, just without seeing any other people. Naturally that’s the mode everyone who focuses on PvE is in. As a result the online play sucks, the only PvP that ever happens is ganking newbies who don’t know any better. You can’t fly through the faction turn-in systems without two or more gankers lunging at you within the minute. EVE has ganking, of course, but because there are so many more PvErs than PvPers its spread out and the average highsec player gets ganked like once a year at most. EVE is perfectly playable for a PvEr in a way that Elite in online mode just isn’t.
I’m having no problems with the game or what I do in it.
Especially after playing for over 13 years because you seem to think I’ve been here 2 minutes.
So how about you stop thinking that you know how people should be playing, or how long others have been playing, or that they don’t know what they’re doing?
With all the ships I need and billions in the bank I think i’m doing ok thanks.
If we did that this would on longer be EVE Online.
That is the beauty of the game. If you are dyeing a lot and losing stuff than it is you who needs to learn more and stop making stupid decisions and taking dumb risks. The game is quit safe if you know what you are doing as a carebear..
Similar but I mean real PvE only servers. Where you can fly in any sercurity level space and can only be attackted by other players if you accept a duel invite.
Why would you even sign up to play a full loot open-world PvP game when you obviously do not want to play that type of game?
Just go play Elite or X4 or NMS or even Star Citizen (possibly still too much PvP for you), all of which offer a better PvE experience than Eve does anyway.
