Look I’m not going to complain but after returning from a 5 year absence I am split on CCP’s push toward just non-stop ship destruction, slowly pushing any sense of non-PvP play out the window with little room (it seems) for any other type of gameplay. Eve used to allow the player to choose how they wished to play, but events like this are just forcing players down a single road of play style. PvP or don’t play.
Ironically Null is now the safer place in Eve than High sec. Join a corp, and stay within your corp/alliances territory and you can choose your own content and play style without being forced in to combat.
I’m enjoying my time back in New Eden, but personally I’m not impressed with CCP’s direction for the game since returning. However financials for CCP seem to prove me wrong and player numbers do as well but I hope to see some balance brought back to New Eden for other game play styles.

The picture of the two ships coming together reminds me of RockyIV were two gloves hit on the trailer.
Btw I purchased a Navy Issue Battlecruiser and I challenged @Uriel_the_Flame for a 1v1 same ship class.

For a good pvp fest, it could be good to make duels stops damaging your ship once you reach 1% of life, so your ship wont get destroyed.
Duels should be friendly and specially a way to practice.

I dont get why CCP is so eager to force chaos into Highsec.
There are 2 zones where People who love PVP can do their thing, but only one place where People who dislike PVP can enjoy the game.
I pay for 3 accounts, which are now going to be useless for the time being.
I cant do PVP, due to PTSD (it triggers severe stress, which i found out when i still lived in Nullsec.. i couldn`t even leave the station.. and thats exactly what will happen now in Highsec).
Not cool..

There already is a living and believable universe, as is..
To be believable, You cant have “god” dictate when chaos breaks out in Highsec.
If there were no People behind the scenes messing things up, there would be no chaos in highsec.
Highsec is supposed to be Highsec, for those who love PvP there are 2 out of 3 zones for that.
Lowsec and Nullsec.
For those who cant participate in PvP, there is only one zone left; Highsec.
To me, it does not make it more believable when High Security space bends the rules and turns into nullsec.
There will always be `Zones´, for as long as Concord exists, as long as the Navy exists, and as long as they dont spread all over the eve universe.
Zones form automatically, there is no escaping this, imho.

I`m a miner, with 3 active Omega Accounts.
Not looking for PvP, though prepared for if it might find me.
But it stresses me out in unimaginable ways, so i cant willingly partake in PvP.
Now im wondering whether i`ll be stranded in a station while my Omega time continues to expire 
(I understand its about Solo kills, so the event probably wont increase the number of suicide ganks.. but still.. miners are easy targets).
So yeah; can we still count on Concord timers?

The irony is it is very easy to game your way to the top. I dont know if the even organizers thought of this, but i figured out the strat like 5 minutes in to reading the post about pvp event and its restrictions.

Its probably easier than getting solo kills in eve lol. So, the fact that they say if you want to go through all the trouble of creating x account go for it” argument fails missarably.
I have been trying to get solo kills and participate in good spirit, but if this is the case i could do it too or just dont bother to compete at all.
Yeah. But they don’t need to probe down their own alts. They can just duel them, if in high sec area, otherwise doesn’t matter. Both warp to the sun and that’s all there is to it.
It is easy up to a point though. Because at some point you’re gonna need to start killing more expensive hulls to advance. Easy and cheap to kill 1-hour alts in shuttles, frigs, and even cruisers. But that’s what everyone can do. You’re not getting ahead by doing that.
So to make it clear – this event is essentially about who is willing to pay more (i.e. to spend more on injecting their alts and on more expensive hulls) to get those PLEX rewards from CCP. It’s 81 billion ISK reward if you come on top on one local and on the overall. 54b if you come on top on 1 local and place 3rd on the overall leaderboard. This is simply an investment gamble. You put in x amount of ISK for a chance to get 50-81b. I haven’t done the math that far, so this is a guess, but by the end of it you might have to sit your alt into a carrier and solo that one.
Most of these will be fake kills. I honestly don’t get it whether CCP didn’t see through it or if this is genuinely what they thought was a quality content to put out. ‘‘Happy fake Valentine’s everyone!’’. This has got to be the shittiest event they’ve ever come up with.
I don’t blame people making a run for that 81b, but really, this will end up hugely distorting killboards. Kind of ironic. A PVP festival that will devalue the meaning of PVP. Well done, CCP. Really, I mean it. This is hilarious.
