PVP turn off feature

Doubt.

In other words, only turn on your PvP flag when you have the advantage, maybe turn it off again if you losing.

You gonna have fun roaming lowsec. You scan down a mission runner and guess what, they have their pvp flag turned off. Or has friends you can’t attack who turn on their pvp flags after you engaged. Wars are gonna be so fun, you track down a war target deep behind enemy lines and guess what, they have their pvp flag turned off.

The PVP on/off feature would only work in HS, if you do it in other sectors would destroy the game

Post on your pvp character then. T correlation between terrible takes on the PVP ecosystem and blank killboards is amazing.

Turning off highsec PVP would benefit me greatly - I base in highsec and fly a lot of ships that are worth ganking. However, I understand that’s a terrible idea for the overall ecosystem.

We are not here to talk about our personal PVP careers

It would destroy the core value of the game in high sec.

Characters in Eve have reputations and histories. Some people choose to wear them on their sleeve without fear so others can judge what relevant experience they have, others hide behind pseudonyms.

If you’re not willing to demonstrate any experience in PVP, why should anyone take your judgements on it’s balancing seriously?

If CCP were to implement this feature, allowing people to opt out of pvp in hi-sec and able to mine, mission run etc. in complete safety, how do you propose dealing with the effect it would have on the in-game economy?

I know I don’t. Mostly because Roxana lacks any sort of creditability, and demonstration of capabilities.

Economy always balances itsself as it always did no matter the changes CCP brought to eve.

And some of those changes result in an exodus, destroying high sec PvP would be one.
You obviously have not experienced the pleasure of ganking or the uncontrollable manic laughter invoked by kill right activations.

Do you realize that your happy ganking ways also push out players? you just want to gank people to get tears from those victims. Because that is what they are VICTIMS not adversaries not opponents.

You want to feel better on the misery of others and defend your foul ways by ‘Oh noes, EVE will die otherwise’ guess what … you are one of the nails in the coffin.

Look up this Char, look up Morrodenya (a char which used to be mine) … I am not newbro. I played EVE from almost at launch. PVE in EVE has never received a decent treatment and look where the game is. Now look at games which focus of PVE, games like FF or even WoW and look at their playerbase.

You gankers are THE problem. PVP isn’t the issue if it was in any way fair but EVE as a game doesn’t promote fair PVP it promotes drooling lunatics extracting the tears and misery from others.

And yes … I always have been a carebear and proud of it as well … I don’t live on the misery of others.

Welcome to the sandbox where anything goes.

Zaera plays WoW, Wow Classic--------> the GANKING is delicious.

Moved to correct Category.

Speaking of moving things to the correct category,

Can we move all the anti-pvp players out of the game and into Stardew Valley?

Yes, pick two of the biggest AAA brand giants with massive pre-existing fanbases before they made their MMOs as your examples to point at and pretend those are a valid comparison to a company which didn’t come in with AAA backing or a pre-existing fanbase, and which is in a niche corner of the MMO market (PvP) while also having a theme that pushes it further from mainstream (space game) and not even being in the more mainstream end of that (fighter-focused action games).

And even then, one of the games you named died so hard it took them less than a year to shut it down, and another 2 years of development before relaunching it. After all of that, it still took several years to overtake EVE in total playercount in spite of all the advantages it had to help it do so.

If you want another reason why you’re wrong, I can point to another game that has all the same advantages as the two you brought up, and still failed, while being PvE-focused. Star Wars: The Old Republic has a fraction of EVE’s active playerbase, and not many more total accounts in its history, after releasing while Final Fantasy was freshly dead and still a couple of years from being re-released.

And to keep the train going, you can look at total historic player numbers vs. active players vs. game age to get some idea of player retention. FF is less than half the age of EVE Online, and of the 4 games we’re comparing, is the only one that still has a larger proportion of its total accounts active on any given day. EVE is just short of 3% and FF is close to 4% (but not as close as EVE is to 3%). While it has the excuse of being 18 years old, WoW sees less than 1% of its player accounts logged in on any given day, and EVE is able to triple that number while being older. SWTOR is looking like it’s in as bad a spot as WoW, except without as good an excuse because it’s only 11 years old, and with numbers which result in it having a fraction of the number daily logins EVE manages.

There’s a lot more factors to consider than just PvP vs. PvE, or even those two things alongside brand recognition and developer reputations. All those things matter, but they’re not the only things that matter. And getting insane enough numbers of players into a game can make it look “healthy” when it’s actually bleeding players faster and harder than EVE if you look at the more relevant stats.

Just having a good laugh at…

Joining a PVP MMO that has been well know as being a dangeous anything goes PvP game, for two and a half months, then…

Did anyone link Permaband HTFU yet… anyone, anyone…?

EDIT: i see that forum join data may not be actual played time… OP created forum account to complain about PvP and post this thread.
Still always laugh when people make “threats” to remove their accounts if CCP dont meet their remove PvP demands, in a PvP game.
