Been trying to find out where these skins came from over the last day or two.
So far, found the catalyst/tristan/vexor came from a 12 or 24 month sub deal years ago ( could have the specific ships wrong though )
The Hyperion was a gift for attending Eve Vagas in 2014 or 2015
The Megathron and Domi are a mystery so far
The Thanatos, Obelisk & Nyx are the ones i cant find Anything about, except whispers but nothing certain.
Anyone actually know where they came from? Maybe a Dev would be the best source of knowlege but im not putting in a ticket for something so trivial.
Some of those ships were from before skins were a thing. They were just limited edition Quafe ships.
When the skins were introduced the ships were reverted to a regular hull plus Quafe skin in your inventory. There are still some Quafe special edition ships in the game.
I had a Quafe Obelisk. Not sure where I got it. I sold its skin for a couple of hundred million. The only one for sale right now is listed at 44,000,000,000 ISK. I should have held on to it.
Nice, So im guessing the same thing happened with the thanatos and Nyx too then. Originally were Quafe versions of the ship but converted like the Obelisk. Begs the question, where did the Quafe Obelisk/Thanatos/Nyx come from originally then before being converted to skins?
Looked into the sale history of those big 3, Obelisk Skin hasnt been on the market in over 5 years, 4 years for Hyperion and Thanatos skin too. Can see theres a Nyx Skin but 90,000,000,000ISK seems a little hopefull
You should be able to find all the info you need here in the EVE University wiki. Looking for specific discontinued ships is not exactly intuitive, but it can be done.
If you want a couple of original Quafe Miasmos hulls for your collection, I have a few I might part with. Though you’ll have to pony up around 90,000,000,000 for an ultramarine edition.
Hopefully they will give us all the faction and random gag company logos in the SKINR so we can just make our own goofy Quafe skins for any ship we want lol
