With the Noctis why can’t we activate the tractors by just pressing it and let it tractor the nearest wreck automatically as an MTU does.
Too inefficient to have to target each individual can or wreck.

Inefficient?
Noctis can tractor as many wrecks as you have tractor beams, MTU only pulls one at a time. You still have to lock them to salvage them, so not sure what the complaint is that you have to have them locked to tractor them in.
Why cant you just activate the tractor and let it grab the nearest can/wreck without having to target, never made sense to me that tractors don’t just pull in the nearest eligible item.
Exactly. I fit my Noctis with four tractors and four salvagers. It’s so quick clearing a field of wrecks, locking, tractoring, and salvaging—it’s practically a mini-game. Far from inefficient.
Because there may be “eligible” items in range that you don’t want to do anything with. I wouldn’t want to activate my tractor and pull every piece of space garbage within 100km. That would be rather inefficient. And again, you still need to target the wreck to salvage it, so…
I put four tractors F1-F4 and four salvagers F5-F8. Then I just sort the overview by range, CTRL target four, mash F1-F4, wait a tick, mash F5-F8, repeat until the field is clear.
That’s literally what they made the MTU to do. Use the proper tool for the job, not everything needs to be a hammer.
The lengths you people go to in order to not play the game never ceases to amaze me. Let me guess, you also want it to auto-salvage as well…
Exist already, deploy drones, salvage.
Not as efficient as salvagers though
Well, maybe I underestimated how much people enjoy the meta game of clicks, cool.
