Random disconnects

For the past few months I keep randomly having disconnect from the eve client with no warning or notification, client just closes. I started to run LogLite and the code it is providing is 3221225477. Since it has started happening I have gotten a new graphics card 7800xt, more ram - 64 total and still having these issues. I have even gone as far as doing a new install of windows but that doesnt seem to be helping. I have submitted several bug reports and support tickets with no information back. Any ideas what I should do?

This is an existing problem and is related to internet routing. Some infrastructure hardware along the route is just crap.

Had this problem 15 years ago and I tracerouted stable and unstable connections for weeks. Turned out some infrastructure provider between belgium(?) and england was a crap piece of hardware. And it was a draw of luck if the connection was routed trough that node.

In theory you could use a well established and big VPN provider. They have their own hardware in datacenters using stable connections to route traffic.

An other option is to create a diagnostics report using eve launcher (can’t remember how) and send the whole schabang to CCP support. CCP has been actively trying to resolve these kinds of issues since about YC110.

edit: Had this random disconnect problem yesterday myself for multiple times. I’m so used to it I don’t even notice it anymore. It’s just one of those days internet says No Eve Today Buddy!

Alright, but did you actually read the post you are replying to?

If so, how do you differentiate between a client crash and a disconnect? When i had disconnects in the past, the client would stay open and tell me it has experienced a connection loss. In no circumstance did the client close at a disconnect.

Did that change?

there is no notification or anything, client just closes with no information

Bloody hell! I’ve become a politician, answering question nobody asked. :joy:

Yep, it is an ongoing problem. After digging around I came across a forum post that advised using a vpn. The only way I keep connected is to use a vpn. I use a freebie as I am not going to pay for something that I need for just one thing. Why a VPN keeps the connection stable I have zero clue.

Client crash or connection loss is an ongoing problem? OP called thread “Random disconnects” and then continued to describe a client crash.

Im not sure what it is, one second the client is there and one second its not, there is no crash report, no disconnect screen. Client just shuts. The loglite tool just says the client exits

This happens when your computer runs out of ram and virtual memory. And this is reproducible in my potato PC.

But in your case you would need to multibox 30+ accounts.

lmao found a … lets call it a feature in the forum software. :joy:

correct, I am running 7 accounts but there is plenty of ram, is this a memory leak like faulty ram

It’s possible but unlikely. There are many known knowns and unknown unknowns which could affect ram stability.

One reason could be you have memory sticks with varying specs in the same channel on mobo. It’s even possible that identical spec sticks but from different manufacturers cause problems.

Also memory controller settings in bios might be too optimistic. This used to be a thing. Mobo manufacturers made default settings way too optimistic (unstable).

There are free ram test software out there like memtes64. I would try one of those.

With memory sticks make sure you are using correct procedures when inserting sticks in mobo slots. For example, if the manual says the pc needs to be fully powered down, meaning unplugging it from the wall and emptying psu capacitors by pressing power switch while unplugged, it needs to be done. Otherwise you might risk causing damage to sticks or having weird problems.

These kind of hardware problems are the very definition of nerd hell. Because it might be a completely different beast like dx11, dx12 thing or even a failing psu.

And final word of warning. If you have no idea what I just wrote there are basically 2 options. 1) learn all the stuff from valid sources, not just from some random reddit troll or 2) leave it to the pc repair shop. Otherwise you could even brick your pc when messing around.

Running various diagnostic softwares like memtests, cpu tests etc. from trusted and known sources is the safe bet.
