Raven Navy Issue & L4

Hi!

Got back into the game after 12 years, and found that I among other ships had a Raven Navy Issue.

However, I am having problems running L4 security missions with it.

Cap on the rigs is one thing that could be fixed, but what makes me have to warp out is the shield tank itself.

I also have relevant implants.

What is the secret sauce? Kiting? Are the missions supposed to be this dangerous?

Here is the fit, please critique it:

Shouldnt need cap rechargers.
I would switch out fury missiles for faction. Fury wont apply damage very well to cruisers and smaller. Unless you carry precision. Plus make sure you are using right damage missiles for who you are fighting…

Ex. Guristas - kinetic
Rogue drones - em

RNI is a very good snipping platform.
You should use a MJD, this will enable removal of all tank but two LSE and maybe a hardener. also I like to have a 100MN to go away between MJD.

Then you should also have more application. 2 MGC ? One for range, one for application ? Maybe go with flare rig too.

4 BCS are 1 too many IMO. You can use sigamp in the low ? or nanofiber.

Side note here…

Faction missiles are REALLY REALLY expensive… try t1 lol if OP sees this.

Thank you for all of the feedback!

I took some things into consideration, and I also looked at some other fits, and came up with the current one.

So far it has proven viable, even without faction ammo. If I start having problems again I will add a DC in the low.

I also make use of the mission guides for damage type and so on @ Mission reports - EVE University Wiki

you don’t have a single application module, not movement …
Missions are going to be a slug.

Yes, but I will live!

you would also live with a MJD . And you would actually live more easily since you would take wayyy less damage and kill the rats faster.

I will try it out, sir.

As you progress and eventually do every mission you will notice these NPCs dont do that much damage. Often they are 1-3 shot with fury missiles or even just t1s.

You will naturally find this out as you grow and learn about PVE/incoming damage. Hopefully apply that to PVP if you ever get into that.

I know your fit will change over time. It’s why I am not going to suggest anything specific beyond what’s here. Hopefully you do get into a golem as that’s end game pve for missions and you can use way less tank as mauraders are a different ball game.

All my fitting knowledge is self-taught and through practical experience. My first fits were really bad and now I have an ok sense of how PVE ships are fitted and how some PVP ships are fitted also.

PS: You do need 1 prop mod at least

I would drop 1-2 of the Faction BCUs for a T2 or Abyssal variants (sometimes you can get ones very cheap on contract that offer a huge bonus to either damage or rate of fire).

A T2 or Faction target painter will also allow you to apply Fury ammunition to anything except frigates (cruisers and destroyers will melt). Depending on how you’re running your missions, you’ll be further ahead with either hydraulic and/or rigor rigs.
