First time back in almost three years, trying to get back into the swing of things.
I’m unsure in what ship to fit for l4s,
I have 5.5m SP in drones, 3.3M in Missiles, 3.3M in shields but not even a 1mil on armor.
I know I used to run in a Iskhar and CNR, for some reason I have a proteus,
Any help is greatly appreciated
Raven is a great ship for missions. Throw a MJD on there, drop a mobile tractor when you land and sit out of range laughing while you clear rooms with ease. It’s tough to tell what exactly you’re working with skill wise, but if you need a T1 battleship with missiles and drones I’d recommend the Typhoon, Raven, and above all the Rattlesnake for you.
You can fly the same ship that you were flying before. Only minor tweaks happened but not to battleships. The last few years its more capital online or whom makes the muchestestestest sanctums per second in a sooper dooper.
If memory serves me right, I rushed T2 cruise missiles, so I can use them but I Im unsure on how effective I am with them
With most of your SP in drones, missiles and shields, and wanting to run L4s, the rattlesnake is kind of a given. You specialize in the skill groups that it uses, and it specializes in running what you want to run.
If you can’t afford one, a missile armageddon will allow your to use a missiles/sentries/MJD sniper fit and run enough missions to eventually upgrade to the rattlesnake.

Something like this could be a decent starting point. DCU to add EHP for safety while you get used to range tanking with the MJD. If you range tank “properly”, you should be able to downgrade the tank a fair bit. Probably start by replacing the cap recharger with another tracking link as you don’t need to be cap stable, then the DCU for another damage upgrade.
However, I prefer to start overtanked and get more dps as I get more comfortable, rather than starting with too little tank and getting blown up if you screw up. The usual “apply and tank the proper damage type for the NPCs of the mission” also applies (this is for amarr space sansha/blood raiders)

Currently finding mixed results
I was going to recommend this thread but I saw you already posted in it. Otherwise… Not really. I use a weird RS brawling fit that works better with my skills (good shield, good nav, great drones, poor missiles) but that I wouldn’t recommend to anyone!
Haha no problem, my skills are similar, good drones, good shields ok missiles though and ok navigation
