Because GitHub is so well known as a repository and Git for version control, that asking that question is a bit of a “wow” moment.

I’ve been in IT for 20 years and never used it, only aware it is there. Deriding someone for not knowing something they’ve never hadcause to use is a bit poor.

Git was originally written by Linus Torvold’s (Linux creator) as a replacement for Subversion, because he hated SVN so much. It has pretty much taken over for version control these days, with even major platforms and languages moving to GitHub.

So anyone with any involvement in programming in the last half decade at least, knows what GitHub is.

Just one of those things. I’m sure they meant nothing by it, just having some harmless fun at his expense.

You could already buy titans, supers, skillpoints… with ISK or PLEX…

Allies can be ‘bought’ with simple promises, not sure why you’d spend cash on that…

Anyway, about the form in what the message was delivered, that all teams have to mind monetization, how it will further influence development by those teams? More things to pay for additionally beside paying the subscription?

Oh man, is it that time of the year again? Time for people to read the CSM minutes, take things out of context or completely misinterpret them, and then raise a stink about it?

FFS people, that is not what the minutes say…

to quote the minutes:

Rhiload asked about the Ships and Balance team, and how that is coming along. CCP

MrHappy explained that previously Team Size Matters was a monetization team, but now

development is moving towards a model of having all the teams be mindful of

monetization, and that Team Size Matters is transitioning to a gameplay team again. Final

details on that change and the ships and balance team are being worked out as the decision

to form it was made just before summer vacations.

“be mindful of monetization” does not in any way mean that’s where the dev time has gone, it just means that instead of having a team dedicated to it the various teams are just going to all be spending a little time on it, maybe, as it’s relevant to their other work. Like “oh hey, we have this new PvE content, maybe we could sell some Skins related to it thematically”.

You even ripped this little manufactured controversy out of the section of the minutes that’s actually talking about what the various teams are doing and it flat out contradicts your claim.

Yeah, i cant say it better. So, as i see it your thread is just rumor mongering caused by not quoting correctly. Which makes me close your thread @Shailagh_Rose, even with the relaxed forum rules in place.

An advice to the rest of the people throwing out insults. Keep it civil and act like grown ups and have a civil discussion.
