Remove Multiboxing - Give ALL Omega Clones 3 ships to control at once. Discuss

I’ve never played Genshin Impact so I don’t really know how it functions. Could you explain a bit more?

What I’m proposing is not swapping between ships, it’s to have 3 active at once, controlled on the same screen with a HUD widget to swap control of them.

I agree that solo play is boring and multiboxing helps with this quite a bit. I feel that it didn’t used to be like this and that a mix of declining actual player numbers, growing ‘used to’ the game, etc results in this. Multiboxing is exciting and efficient so people do it, myself included.

Edited for punctuation and grammar.

So youre asking CCP to end multi-boxing by giving everyone multi-boxing for free?

We all know what this is. You just want multi-boxing for free

Yes. By giving EVERYONE multiboxing, no one can complain about things being “unfair” or unbalanced. Everyone would be at the same place.

Though no, I don’t want free multiboxing but wouldn’t be opposed to it either.

So that isnt ending multi-boxing. It is multiplying the problem.

This would replace multiboxing by banning it.

Can you poke holes in the mechanics?

But it’s not a bannable offense. CCP has deemed it legal.

“By banning it”. The suggestion assumes this feature replaces multiboxing.

So you want CCP to ban all of those legitimate accounts that had money and skill points put into them without any reimbursement to the player who made them?

Right now, every single multi-boxer account is Omega and a lot of time and money have been put into them. You want CCP to suddenly declare that illegal and ban those accounts?

I have to give you credit for your level of ruthlessness. You’re more hardcore than I am.

Please discuss the proposed mechanic itself as stated in the OP.

Okay I’m done. I thought you wanted to discuss the logistics of replacing the multi-boxers. You don’t so I won’t comment anymore.

As stated in the OP, I want to discuss the mechanics of the proposed suggestion.

Not:

  • CCP’s financials

  • What if scenarios

  • ToS

  • EULA

In-Game mechanics of the proposed mechanic itself.

For example, what would it to to PVP? PVE? The materials markets across New Eden?

Do Alphas also get 3 multiboxing accounts?

No, but I’m open to discussing the pros and cons of it.

I have 3 accounts - I don’t want them combined or slaved to one another whenever I do something with one. That entirely defeats the purpose.

If you want “helper” ships, aka: escorts - that’s probably an entirely different discussion.

It’s less about “Helper Ships” and more about leveling the playing field. At the end of the day, there is pretty much no difference between one guy controlling 50 1K DPS ships and one guy controlling a ship that does 50K DPS.

It’s allowed and we’re stuck with it but that doesn’t mean that the situation couldn’t be improved.

Any thoughts on the proposed mechanics themselves?

You seem to be looking at this from a fairly narrow perspective of multiboxing (a fleet of ships, all doing the same thing at the same time). For those multiboxing 2-5 accounts, that might not be what they’re doing. How would your proposal work for scouts, cyno alts, market alts, or any situation where one of a player’s characters is in one place, and another, somewhere else? That’s a fairly common use case.

(Please note, I’m humoring your idea, but as-proposed, I don’t think it’s a good fit for EVE.)

but it’s the only thing that matters.

I am a 100% on your side with the idea. But it is impossible to change that now. The massmultiboxing is too deeply rooted into the game, it would really go bankrupt if you cut off all that extra income.

It’s too late.

Way, way too late. That ship has sailed and fallen off the ends of the Earth…

…and then got ganked by a multiboxed fleet for good measure.
