Reading comp not your strength I see…
Oh dear, poor dear… have a hug, now go have a cry in the corner for a while, when you’ve dried yourself out do come back and try to enlighten me about where I talked about ‘no consequences’, apart from in your own mind…
Waiting…
I already did, and you clearly understood exactly what I was pointing out. Hiding behind ‘but that’s not what I meant’ while attempting to shift the onus for clear communication onto the reader… is weak. Lazy. Shoddy writing and cowardly presentation.
You have not, and can not… come on deary, you started this, so prove your point…
I’ve seen no reference to my post re: ‘no consequences’ and no reference in my posts stating: ‘not what I meant’… so far it’s all you, do you do this normally? - argue with yourself?
You made an assertion, but provided no proof… (twice now in fact, well I could add a couple more in for your insults).
Arrendis seems to be of the opinion that ‘sandbox’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘single shard’ sandbox - or even ‘everyone can get into the sandbox.’ I think that is where you two are crossing wires.
I’d disagree there, but he still hasn’t actually made a case… nothing in fact apart from a few insults… A little odd really, but this is Arrendis…
Got himself into a bit of a pickle
Remember during one of the events (maybe crimson harvest or guardian’s gala or something) the first few hours the loot tables were messed up and people literally made billions of ISK running the sites but after CCP realized the error they nerfed the loot tables so the sites no longerd dropped anything worthy so people haven’t ran them anymore for the most part. The people who ran them early kept the billions worth of loot. So yeah don’t hold your breath.
The problem remains, the majority of normal EvE players can’t participate in the new content or have the slightest chance to in the near future, which apparently was the invest of a whole team over several months. And furthermore 50% of the not so normal players participating in this content so far got shafted, as they have an even lower chance to ever see anything of the new stuff as the normal player.
Who makes such stupid calls?
I’ve not gotten myself into a pickle at all. Your insistence that CCP’s take on ‘forcing players […] to pick one side or the other is completely f’king anathema to the core concept of EVE being a sandbox’ clearly implies that you think CCP shouldn’t be forcing players to pick one side or the other. The only reason picking a side has any weight at all is consequences. Ergo, your statement carries the implication that it is those consequences which are anathema to the sandbox.
The fact that you’re apparently too stupid to understand what your words mean to someone who isn’t able to perfectly read your mind isn’t my problem.
CCP shouldn’t be “forcing” people to do anything, although pointing this out feels pedantic and perhaps isn’t the actual point being made here.
Bit late back, went for a run
Did you just flag my other post? lol…
Back to it:
So you made an assumption and then followed that up with a false assertion - and then proceeded to insult and belittle to cover up the fact…
As you know full well, the Eve standing system is flexible - actions do indeed (and should) have consequences, but those can be affected by further actions:
- Running missions for the one side, another or another, depending on which standings you are trying to increase - e.g. running Caldari or Khanid to increase Amarr standings through association)
- Epic Arcs
- or Skills (Diplomacy etc).
Amongst others…
The ability to (through effort) make changes and mitigate the consequences of previous actions is all part of a ‘sandbox’ experience.
[CCP has developed the Trig/Edencom relationship in a completely different way to the system that has stood for aeons, in what I have asserted, is a poorly thought out and antithetical (to Eve ‘as a sandbox’) way.
This is the standings system in Eve, I suppose if you don’t understand the system, then I can see why you might erroneously jump to strange conclusions about consequences (I’m being far too generous… to you here) and in that same light, we might as well forgive the devs, given they have been around for far less time than you or I.
Edit: Dinner and TV time, laters
tee hee
Nope. Wasn’t me, sorry. Your posting quality—and other folks’ opinions of it—remains not my problem.
@CCP_Convict could you please give us a detailed explanation of this “resolution” you guys decided to implement, just so we will know exactly what is and isn’t a bug? Right now I seem to be unable to lose even more standings to the rogue drones. Should I report this?
The solution is simple, no standing modifications with rogue drones in kspace anymore.
This sounds like an absolute overkill.
To fix a problem that the players didn’t even recognize as a problem…
As this issue has been resolved I’m closing the thread. Thank you.
