Resource Redistribution Update

I think the market turned out pretty well in that game though so maybe CCP is on to something. Yea follow that model!!!:rofl:

Step back, sell the stuff, and then think it through, perhaps take a break for a bit, make sure all your stuff is safe first then come back and see the shape of the game. I understand because I was pushing my alliance to start going after gankers perches in hisec and then quantum cores hit, it was like ah, that is not going to work for us now.

I believe that smart players will do well when this shakes out. In truth I like this change even though it hurts in so many areas.

That is your choice but even after the changes its possible to plex your account with pure isk without spending lots of hours.

Falling back to alpha will only be shooting yourself in the foot.

(Why are you trying to accuse me of not playing EVE? Are you trying to abuse the ad hominem fallacy?)

Not all mining happens in high sec, and those ice rocks that I enjoy shooting last for a long time. Dreads to indeed appear from time to time, but they are a rare sight. And neither of these examples actually counter what I said:

Hauling is gameplay that some people find fun, just like other low effort activities like ratting and mining.

Why is it bad that hauling exists, while it is OK for those other activities to exist?

Already done that. Sold / reprocessed one billion worth of stuff and my character is sitting on 3 billion isk.

I don’t need a break, I need to get back into the money I gave CCP to entertain me. Playing as an Alpha is the only way I know how to do that.

I’m past that now. I won’t spend any more money on EVE but enjoy it for free. Still many ships to be flown as an Alpha.

My foot is already shot, thanks to CCP. All I can do is get back into my money by playing for free.

Well you need to explain exactly what you mean by playing another game while mining, hell I don’t do that in hisec. But at least this time you said ice mining, which means you are looking like the Kamio ice miner with an AFK Orca on every chunk of ice.

I came across people who would dump VNI’s in sites and do other stuff, but since the change to drone aggression that is just not possible. I repeat, you cannot just orbit Havens like that and I doubt you are playing based on that comment.

Before this gets flagged for off topic, note that this is the logical development of the thread towards what will result from the resource redistribution, as my posts routinely get removed for being off-topic I have to cover that base.

Low effort, like ratting and mining…, seriously, it was low effort with drones, but now they get blasted almost as soon as you launch them that does not apply anymore.

Isn’t it curious that most of the CCP’s advocates in this thread don’t seem to be playing EVE everyday judging by their comments and responses.
Hell, one didn’t even bother to read the thread before spouting the Company’s lines.

To say that you can orbit a Haven, was a real obvious red flag.

Why? after much reflection, I glimpse why ccp is making such a decision.
ccp does not play in the economy of eve. but in the economic system of the real world. and besides the players too !! but the real economy is in a bad state. which pushes a growing number of players to play for PLEX to stay in the game. but to exchange isk for PLEX, you have to stop losing ships to keep your isks …
For ccp a player who pays by PLEX = $ 0 in their wallet. So they say more ships lost = less PLEX = more dollards in the wallet. this assumption is risky, because less PLEX can also be = less player.
I believe ccp is in a difficult financial situation or in the process of becoming so.
The real question is; is the PLEX system viable to operate in the real world?

To be honest, I haven’t ratted ever, so that’s just from what I heard. I don’t like ratting, just like you don’t like hauling.

You don’t have to do what you don’t like, but you don’t have to make it sound like it’s a bad thing that it exists either. That was my point.

We all make mistakes, hell I have said things I have heard from others and then been proved wrong, so perhaps can give you the benefit of the doubt.

I don’t mind hauling at all, in fact I have two freighters, two Bowheads, ten DST’s, ten BR’s and a number of other ships set up to haul stuff. I am merely suggesting that most people do not find moving a freighter 40 jumps a fun thing to do, that was my point and the changes make the need to do that more likely. I was advising an alliance mate to develop a network of mission runners to buy their looted modules for the high ends so he can continue. Though I am wondering just how much a change they will make to the reprocessing because while the refining rates are one thing, the loot drops were scaled back massively since 2013.

its not off topic at all, cause and effect this change will effect a lot of other areas.
I still think this change is really good, I think it will take some time before it is seen thou maybe 6 months to a year.

I agree to a point but I think CCP’s number 1 goal is to push for more conflict, if people can’t be self sufficient they have to put their feet into different areas and that will cuase tension and eventually conflict.

Conflict is good for the advertising of eve online and also good for CCP as you say because more ships lost = more plex bought in general. Also conflict is fun so I personally like it.

My subs runs out very soon, and I am aiming to come back in May, that would be seven months for me. That being said there are still some major imbalances that need to be worked through by CCP, this is just part of it. I was belt ratting in 2010 and gun mining for my ships, I had a hell of a good time doing that and in truth would enjoy it again.

I thought about quitting before this tbh because I live in low sec and it is so dead empty a lot of the time especially because the triangles scare people away and block routes. (even thou moving through them is very easy if your align time is lower than 5 seconds)

I’ve read on many forum posts that low sec is the poor mans lands so to see that low gets something worth coming to feels good I really hope more people come to low sec it would be amazing.

I have done some ninja mining in low sec, I think you will get some of the more adventurous hisec players chancing their arms in Ventures, maybe more as they develop their skills. Most of the time it was people who wanted to do all of the steps themselves, I know a few players like that, but if they make the refining rates better they will not need to do that. So it may be it will be those doing a la carte mining, to finish something off. Still I think you will find nullsec activities in lowsec the major change, could be fun.

I better stop now, I only decided to post in this thread because it was such an amazing change, I am now starting to get my posts flagged so here we go. Two posts flagged now, so it starts, ban incoming lol. And posts removed, ban soon I am sure, one month this time?

Seems like a good time to stock up on both.

Changes haven’t happened but people seem to know exactly what is going to happen.

And why the heck do people want to equate Eve to RL. Yes, they do share some similarities but IMO that is where it ends.

People will come, but it won’t be high sec.
