Change the modules for both Remote Tracking and Sensor boosting to become similar to Vorton projectors. They become a target affecting within a very small radius (5km) affecting 10-15 targets. (T1 being 10, with metas going up reaching T2 of 15 targets)
The modules as it stands are only used in very very niche circumstances and never used in large or mid scale fights. Barely even being within skirmish fights even unless the group is a highly specified group. With the change to a Vorton style of effect, this mainly would allow Logi Cores of Oneiros and Scimitar’s to really shine with their role bonus from Logistics Cruiser that is never utilized. As they do not compete with the staying power of the fleet ships from Amarr and Caldari (rightfully so as those are fleet designed compared to Min and Gal being skirm designs), this would give them that extra edge and reason for fitting teams to consider over just having more raw EHP with the Logi Core being Caldari or Amarr for defense to allowing Logi Core to be not just fleet repair but heavy utility that the skirmish designs of Gal and Min are all about.
Edit: If Vorton would not be a good comparison, another idea would be mimicking the mom’s Projected AOE bursts, keeping to a small AOE area of 5km, would also work then. Reasoning being, making them like Command bursts would be not work as Logi Core should not be on main fleet.
Remote sensor boosters have a good role when you have a dedicated tackle ship you want to boost, like at gatecamps.
I once got caught in a sub-2s-align frigate by such a setup.
Remote tracking boosters seem more niche, but even those could in their current state be useful in small gangs to let a support ship help the dps ship track better.
I don’t see why they need changes, and especially not random vorton-like boosts that you cannot depend on and can help enemies as much as they help your allies.
In a brawl sense yes, that would be potentially a weakness of it, making it a module in EVE. And one you have to have skill to use, knowing when to fire and when to hold remote support. Nothing works perfectly in every fight every time, nor should it. But giving the remote modules an AOE component would give life into them when there is only 2 uses for remote sensor boosters, Logi core to ‘chain’ with other logi as they are average 10% better than personal boosters and making 1 tackle pilot able to do insta locking.
Remote tracking computers have no place right now unless you have a highly specific designed purpose. They have no bearing within any fleet of more than 5. Whereas there are literally 2 ships that have a bonus that are never used in the game. Solo logi in a skirmish fight of 5v5 sure, they might boost one of their ships with tracking. But a fleet of 150, even if you were very generous and said 2 per logi, with perfect coordination you’ll have 40 of your DPS boosted and the other 2/3 of the DPS don’t get anything. As the Scimitar and Oneiros have the effectiveness bonus, making the module by some capacity AOE (Vorton or Projected Burst) will make them potentially a better option in any scale fight over just raw defense. Gal and Min are all about force multiplication.
Remote tracking links are heavily used in some of the multiplayer PVE content, like Incursions.
The effects also are already quite heavily used in small gang pvp, some of the most allegedly desired content, so making it another N+1 tool may not be the best answer.
