I want to propose a new sip equipment that would make this whole line of thought worth it.
Ancillary Cloaking Field Generator
A high slot module
Uses Cap boosters of different sizes (depending on module size, this is a balancing factor ofc). Can fit from 3 to 24 (or maybe even more, see below)
The device will provide a cloaking field on the ship it’s equipped on, that will keep functioning AFTER the ship has been abandoned. It will consume 1 cap charge. If the ship is decloaked (by normal means - proximity but also observatories) the device stops functioning. Functions pretty much like a siege module combined with ancillary reppers. If the ship is decloaked it can also be boarded.
The Odysseus has a nice SMB, where you can fit an astero and maybe some prospect. I would LOVE to be able to go with it in a wh, deploy the cloak field, then jump in an astero or prospect and go do my stuff. That’s my use case for the module that can hold 3 hours or so maybe.
More hours might mean more interesting stuff :
SOE Forward Observation Base
Small citadel, limited smb and some storage space
Same invuln setup as the mobile depot
You can take control and fit it, once deployed.
It also can fit this cloaking field generator.
You can power it for 24 hours or even more (maybe can set a visibility window or something, like 5 minutes every 2 hours or similar? )
Deploys and powers up in 15 minutes (much like a small pos)
Will porovide you with a bit more than a “tent” like the mobile depot is, but also cloaking it.
SOE Stealth Depot
A mobile depot that will cloak up when you deploy it and will recloak in 1 min if nothing is around it, as long as it has cap boosters inside its fuel bay (can be limited also to like 12-24 or so)
This cloaking field generator can apply to SOE ships only.
We should have a SOE indy, maybe a SOE marauder even? some SOE Orca equivalent too.
