Role-playing in Eve-online: Human Emotions

Players are still just humans with emotions. Just like trading in a RL financial market. Virtual Earnings and Losses in Eve-Online affects Players Behavior.

Seems, we should just adapt with this reality.

I think some are role-playing on EVE forums.

I’m one of those, role-playing in a make believe existence . But others reactions are real. They feel that Eve-Online, a video game is a part of their reality.

I just wanna get the first Babaroga hulls on the market and sell them before CCP realizes they created a Marshal-value Marauder (unless intended) and decides to cut the material requirements in half.

So, you’re saying that Eve’s assets have value?

Depends on what kind of value. Last time I check, I didn’t make any RL Profits on any In-Game Products unlike Crypto Currency.

Value in EVE, for Dummies:

In EVE, value isn’t just what something costs—it’s what it’s worth to you or others.

  • A ship in your hangar = just pixels.
  • A ship in your fleet when war starts = value.
  • A Titan = expensive.
  • A Titan that shows up on time = priceless.

If people want it, need it, or depend on it—it has value. Even if it’s free.

Just like a warp core stab:
Useless… until you need it.

I know for a fact there are players in FW that do not have emotions.

Vulcans?
