Rolling ships, when?

Most people don’t spend any more on their PvP ships than they did before abyssals came out. This is still Eve. People don’t fight fair, and Eve has a harsh death mechanic. So many players strive for a good price to performance ratio. Moreover, some people actually spend less now on their PvP ships by making cheap abyssal alternatives to the faction mods that they had previously used on their fits.

Now, to be fair, I know some players do spend what I consider absurd amounts of isk on blinged out fits. And to that I say, “bring it on.” Because even though I’ve probably died to such people, I’ve also gotten goosebumps on my balls from opening up wrecks and seeing green, blue, and red triangles. They want to undock that sh!t? Fine by me. Because I ain’t out there flying by a Bushido code. I will blob, gatecamp, hotdrop, bait, and whatever else I need to do to turn your ship into profit for me.

There’s a reason Eve’s golden rule is, “don’t fly what you can’t afford to lose.” Because, pre or post abyssal, there is still no “I win” button in Eve. Even those guys racking up hundreds of kills in blinged out AT ships eventually create jaw dropping killmails.

I guess it’s a matter of perspective. Some people see things like imbalance or unfairness when they look at blinged out PvP ships. I see content. Blinged out PvE ships. Blinged out PvP ships. Both are still loot pinatas. It’s just some are easier to crack open than others.

This guy gets it.

Pretty much this ^

And this ^

It was hard to find anything positive about abyss space. And when i did it was debatable.

They will NEVER understand that THEIR playstyle is NOT the only one valid…believe me i tried to explain that to them…

I would LOVE to roll ships in eve. Like, why can’t we press q or e to roll our ship to the left and right. Would feel a lot better and more realistic when you, for instance, are flying with an interceptor. Or even an orca.

Great idea, man, I need my ships to be rolled too.

Instanced content is literally the opposite of sandbox.

The fundamental concept of ONE WORLD and everyone is in it, is no longer true when you add instances.

It was a huge mistake that reflects badly on the whole team, someone should have known this.

It’s alright, lot’s of people really don’t get it.

ya
do a barrel roll

I am advocating for an expanded use of mutaplasmids and have no issue with your take on how the abyss undermines gameplay generally. How we get the mods is a separate issue from what the mods should do.

So, what was tiericide? It happened while I was taking a break from the game. I thought it was about simplifying exactly the sort of thing that multiplasmids make complicated.

And we added faction stuff to the market so that it was all together and easy to find rather than players having to trade them on contracts…

Before they did that and I didn’t see any buying for the items so I would reprocess them thinking it trash.
True story.

Oh man… What a bummer. I didn’t know what to do with a lot of my stuff so I just held onto it. I still have the 5k planetary vehicles they gave us a long time ago, etc.

This is how I roll. Most of the abyssal mods I use are ones I made with mutaplasmids I got doing filaments. I will use real good ones I roll but I am not going to go out of my way and buy an expensive one. Even rolls that are “meh” might have some use. For example on a fit with some leftover power or CPU I can use an abyssal mod that had higher fitting and only a little better stats for example.

And like you said, we do encounter people with bling abyssal fits. They die just the same like any bling fits. More bling = more risk for them. Many times they are more expensive than a whole small fleet. If they want to fly that way then more power to them I say.

You mean like spoiling PVP for 15 years and so scaring away 7/8 possible players over the years(90% of all noobs are gone after the first month(CCP’s own numbers))?

If CCP would actually do what would be GODD for the game your ‘sandbox’ would be a real ‘sandbox’ and not one that prefers only ONE playstyle…

But i guess ‘eve was nothing for’ those players that left eh?

wouldn’t have CONCORD

Wouldn’t have pvp everywhere
